~Viktor's POV~
"You don't have much longer, sir. I hate to be the one to tell you this."
Those words ring through my head everyday, every minute, every second.
It's like everytime I close my eyes I see that same hospital, that same nurse coming to me with meds, the same peppy talk she gave about not giving up hope.
How was I not supposed to give up hope when all my hope was ripped away from me, huh?
Well, it is kind of my fault. I threw away my hope and everything that came with it.
The chemotherapy, the injections, all of it.
Because why ruin your body for a life that was gonna be short lived anyways?
So I let it happen for awhile. My hair fell, my food wouldn't stay down, nights became sleepless and painful.
Screw that.
No matter how much time I have left for canceling those procedures, I shall make the best out of all of it. After all, hope is stupid anyways.

~Yuri's POV~
"Yuri come on, you deserve this reward for everything you have done!" Viktor called to me with a wide smile, doing his best to drag me off to the ice cream parlor across the street from the ice rink.
Ever since Viktor asked me to be his figure skating partner, we had been practicing non stop. I could tell how serious the male was about all of this and just maybe... We'd have the ability to win the upcoming competition he signed us up for. Which was tomorrow and I was stressed as hell.
"Coming, coming...." I mumbled, entering the shop with him. Almost immediately, I was met with the scent of freshly made waffle cones and sweet dairy. Laughter and cheer spread through the parlor, couples sitting in booths and up at the counter on the bar stools. It was pretty old timey in here. Checkered floors, red walls, and even a jukebox in the corner.
After taking a seat in one of the booths, a lady came over to us and proceeded to take our order. I had gotten plain vanilla ice cream but Viktor....He ordered so quickly and said so many specific things, I couldn't even keep track.
After the lady left, Viktor looked to me with a wide smile.
"Yuri, you've been doing well in practice....You can't land some of your jumps but we can easily switch those up to where I'm lifting you rather than you doing it alone..."
My eyes widened. Viktor? Lifting me up? Well, it happened in figure skating all the time but I didn't think Viktor would even think of doing that. A pink tinge dusted across my cheeks and I nodded, looking down at the table which was sticky with caramel sauce.
"Uh, yeah. Whatever will get us the win, right?" I responded with a sheepish grin.
Viktor's smile disappeared and he shook his head. "Winning isn't everything, y'know," He first said, reaching out and grabbing my hand, "It is about feeling happy and being free. Now, pair skating is different. It's about feeling the other through yourself. Having fun on the ice like nobody else is watching. Being with each other...Being together..."
The more he went on, the more my face began to heat up. "Y-You think so? Well, I never thought of it that way..." I responded shakily.
Viktor grinned and let go of my hand. "Say, Yuri...What am I to you? A friend, father figure....Boyfriend?" He asked.
I thought I was gonna die here and now. Luckily, the lady had returned with the bowls of ice cream. One simple vanilla and the other looked like a circus. Viktor was honestly a child sometimes, so cute.
"Look at that! Ice cream! Let's eat, yes?!" I interjected, grabbing a spoon and immediately beginning to scarf down my bowl. I waited about five minutes or so before lifting my head to look at him and see if he let go of the question.
To my surprise, I met his gaze. Was he staring at me? Before I could even say anything, he removed his usual brown gloves and revealed those long slender fingers that were sexy as hell (no I don't have a hand fetish but maybe a Viktor hand fetish). With his hand, he reached over and gently wiped away the remnants of ice cream on the corner of my lips and licked it straight off his finger..
Damn he was gonna kill me.

We left the parlor only half an hour later and headed back to my house. Unlocking the door, the last thing I expected was to be met with a dog running up and jumping on me.
"Oh, I never introduced you to Makkachin, did I?" Viktor said from behind me.
This was his dog? Why did I not know he had a dog. Good boyfriends know everything about their other. NO. He isn't my boyfriend and I need to check myself before I wreck myself.
"How did he or she get into my house?" I asked after managing to get the animal off of me.
"Oh...Right. I let her in while you were away..." He said and quickly went in the apartment.
"Viktor you don't' have a ke- Whatever..." I mumbled and went inside as well.
Since it was such a long day, I was tired and I could see it in Viktor's eyes that he was too. It had been a long day of practicing and tomorrow would be an even longer one due to the competition and everything.
So not even saying a word, I got up from the couch and headed off to my bedroom, plopping down on the bed. Viktor would know what to do. There was blankets and pillows on the couch so if he didn't end up going back to wherever he was staying, he would know to just sleep on the couch...Right?
Wrong.
Only ten minutes after I got situated in bed and under the blankets, the door swung open.
"Yuri!" He called with a wide smile, Makkachin at his side.
I grabbed my glasses and sat up, looking at him. He was in...J-Just a t-shirt. My t-shirt to be exact.
"Viktor are you in my shirt? And what do you need?" I asked, rubbing my eyes.
He didn't say a word. Just came over, hopped in my bed and wrapped both of his strong, tight arms around me. What the actual hell was happening here? This had to be a dream cause...This seemed surreal.
"Goodnight, Yuri..." VIktor whispered against my skin.
I'd roll with it. With a sigh, I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep right along with the male next to me.

Competition Day...
Nervous? Hell yeah. My heart was practically beating out of my chest Scratch that, my heart was out my chest and beating in the seas of the bermuda triangle. And where was Viktor? He always complained about me being late to events and junk but here he was. We went on the ice in fifteen minutes and-
"Yuri?" A voice called out.
"Viktor?! Oh..." I said in return. To my surprise, it was just Minami. However, he didn't have his usual smile nor that bright aura.
"What's wrong, Minami? And do you know where Viktor went?"
Minami bit at his lip and sighed. "Actually, that's what I came here to tell you. Viktor, he..."
