5 years later...

Shauni POV
I sat at behind my desk thinking about what I've been through. I finally made it. But I have lost alot of people and things on my way here.
Buzzz Buzzz
I answered the phone for my best friend A'Mari
" hey Mari" I said
" hey Shauni where you at?" She said
I turned around and looked at the black clock on the wall to see im 30 minutes late from our lunch we planned early this morning.
" oh shoot i forgot im on the way" i said while getting up and going to put on my blazer jacket.
Driving down the streets of L.A. California where I've lived for the last 2 years i see how beautiful it is and why i loved it so much. California is so big but when you are associated... better yet married to someone whose name holds so much weight it can be so small. I pulled up to Skyline which is a rooftop restaurant and gave my keys to valet. Going inside everyone watched me strut to the elevator and the men didn't dare look my way. They knew my last name made me a dangerous person to mess with. Once i reached the top floor the waitress lead the way to my table where my pissed off best friend sat looking at me. Once i sat down and order me a strawberry margarita with a shot of tequila on the side i looked at her and smiled hoping to lighten up the mood.
"Hey Mari im so sorry i was at the shop"
" mhmm you were 45 minutes late but its whatever. How was your day?"
" it was good" i said taking a sip of my drink
" don't lie to me i know you girl"
" well i haven't talked to him all day. I really don't even wanna say his name he makes me so mad. 4 freaking years and i feel like i do- " i was starting to vent then she cut me off
" omg speaking of the damn devil or should i call him your husband" she rolled her eyes while saying.

I silently prayed that she was messing with me while turning around. I turned around to see him going to go sit at a table for what looked to be a business meeting that he told me nothing about. We soon made eye contact and i knew once we both were home it was going to be a long night. I know he had to be mad because i had been avoiding him all day since i left the house. I flagged the waitress down to bring me the ticket i suddenly wasn't hungry i just wanted to get the fuck away from him and his presence.
" i know your not leaving me cause this man is here .. You have to stop running away from your problems. Just talk to him tonight Shauni"
" Bye Mari we will meet up again later this week. I love you" she returned the gesture and i was on my way towards the elevator and i the man that was only supposed to bring joy to my life came up beside me.
