Buttercup

            It's been a few days since Katie has came to the school. She's become popular real fast but she still hangs around Butch and me. I have seen Butch staring at Katie more intensely lately, but then again he stares at girls all the time.     
            I am going into my English class and when I enter Butch is already there. "Hey Butch, you're here early for the first time." I teased him. Butch rolls his eyes at me, "Hello to you to BC." Just then Katie entered the room, I see Butch literally stand straight up like he was a dog waiting for his owner. I swear I can see a tail wagging too. "Hey Katie, how are you?" Butch says trying to make a conversation with Katie. "Hello Butch, I'm good." Katie says while smirking.
Yuck! I'll never seem to understand how Butch gets girls. Like seriously, clearly Katie's not interested, I think. Ugh all this romance thing is getting in my head. I start walking off to Mitch and start chatting with him. "Hey Mitch babe, I'll be right back need to go to the restroom." says Mitch's girlfriend, Princess. Ah Princess, she is one messed up child, I'll tell you that, but then when she went away on some trip, she seemed to change and be nicer to everyone.         
         I'll just say that I have no clue what or how it happened but I'm just keeping my space with her. "Ok, see ya." Mitch says turning back to me, continuing our conversation. Soon the bell rang and I was headed to my seat. Then I noticed my backpack was on another desk, I turn and see Katie in my original seat. "Hey you took my chair." I said confused. "Oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't know." Katie said starting to get up. "Oh no it's cool, you can stay there." I said and just sat in the seat. I see Butch turn around and mouth the words 'Thank you' to me. I roll my eyes again, I should've known.
Our teacher came in and started teaching. As usual, I was staring off into space. Then I suddenly heard tapping on my desk. The teacher was right in front of me, 'Uh-oh' I thought. Ah Buttercup. You must've been listening so well. Tell me what book are we starting today?" The teacher asked. " Oh, uhm it's...." I stuttered.
           Gah, I should've listened. "Romeo and Juliet." The teacher finishes for me, "Now Buttercup, would you like to tell me what love is"  I started stuttering again, "Uhm...love...love is...I.. don't know?" The teacher sighed and turned around, "Butch! Tell me what is love?" I inwardly smirk. Seriously is the teacher asking Butch what love is? Amusing.  "Love.....Love is friendship." Butch says. That surprises me completely. "If she isn't your best friend, then how can you love her? So therefore, love is friendship." Butch continues. I stare at him. Wait, so does Butch love me? Why do I get a warm feeling in my heart? Do I love Butch?
These questions kept coming into my mind all day. I kept wondering what Butch meant. Did he really mean that? Do I love him? We've been friends for so long could I love him? Gah!! I need to go for a run.
"Hey Ms. T I'm going out ok." I said passing my dorm mother. No she's not my mother. She's the person who watches everyone's dorm. Her name is actually Ms. Tracy but I call her Ms. T, she's surprisingly ok with it too so it's cool. She's a really sweet lady.
       "Be back at 8 sharp." She says walking off. Yup nice chat.
Once I'm out I take a deep breath trying to get my head straight. I was already in my workout clothes so I start running. Yeah normally I go to school like that so it's more better for me. I run were my legs take me and I let my mind drift off to anywhere but Butch's words.
"BC! BC wait up! Buttercup!" I hear my name being called so I slow down. I see Butch running up to me. Where did he come from? "Hey, long time no see BC." He says. "We saw each other at school dumbbutt." I say smirking. Ever since he said all that 'love is friendship' words, I see him so differently. "So are you going?" He asks me.
        Shoot, I wasn't listening to him. "Uhm, y-yeah sure." I say trying to 'roll with the flow' "Ok sweet, see you tomorrow! Remember 4-9 pm." He says taking off. It took me a moment then I realized, the party for Brick, Blossom, Boomer, and Bubbles.
They all decided to move to a different state to go to a different college for 2nd semester since there was some problem with this one. Ok you got me, I wasn't listening to them as usual, all I know is that this school is closer to the Professor. They asked Butch and me to come along, but we refused. Start over in a different school? You know how much work that is for me. I'm not even paying attention now so how am I going to pay attention in another school.
Oh yeah back to the topic. Tomorrow, party, starts at 4 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m. Got it. Hopefully this will get rid of all of this weirdness in me.
