I wake up with a pounding headache, lying on my back in the grass. I sat up to see a giant meteor next to me. I recap my morning, trying to figure out what happened before I blacked out.

I woke up, and got dressed for school. I was eating and studying for my midterms, when there was a big crash in my backyard.

I ran outside to find a gigantic meteor sticking out of the ground in my lawn.
I start walking towards it, eyeing a bright yellow light coming from it, "What the he-"

As I got closer everything got fuzzier and darkness clouded my vision.

I woke up on my back next to the meteor, as I stood up from the grass, I felt all the dew from the morning soaked in my shirt.

"Gosh darn it! This was my favorite shirt," I shouted.

A female voice breaks my thoughts, "About time you woke up. We have work to do!"

I whip my head around, looking for the source, but saw nobody. I call out, "Hello? Anyone there?"

"Yes, I'm right here you dolt!"

Still not seeing anyone, but the voice felt almost like a buzzing in my head.

"Your hand, twit."

I look down at my hand, finding a yellow stone embedded in the back of my hand.

I whispered, "You're a talking rock."

It lets out a huge groan without having a mouth, "Oh God, he's an idiot."

I rolled my eyes, "I am not an idiot- Wait." I stare at the stone, "Hold up, what is happening?"

"Well Joe, like I said earlier, we have work to do. You don't need to know everything now, it'll come as you grow."

"Well can I get a rundown? How do you know my name? Who are you? Why is there a stone in the back of my hand?"

"Do you always ask this many questions?"

"Are you always this cryptic?"

The buzzing went silent.

"Good one."

I move inside as it explained, "Joe, what you have received is a stone with strong cosmic power. It is an object made many, many, many years ago."

I laugh, "That is so freaky! "

"Doesn't matter, we have to get you to safety. We lost a lot of time earlier when you passed out."

Speaking of earlier... I pull my phone out of my pocket to check the time, but I'm distracted by a crapload of texts from my buddy, Jack.
