"I'll get them."

"Oh I don't know, I don't want him to find me and I don't want to hear about him." I swallow.

"I don't care, you still need to get your stuff. He can fuck himself for all I care, I'll give him a handful if he is there. Don't worry, I got you." Karlie hugs me sideways with her arm around my shoulders.

"I still can't believe you slapped him," I whisper, trying to find humour in it just to feel something.

"Well someone had to do it." She pipes up. "I wish I punched him but my hand came up fast. I should have dragged that bitch but frankly I don't think the poor girl knows this guy was gonna get married, let alone taken."

I wince as the scene resurfaces again in my mind. "Okay, the keys are in my bag, in the car..." I trail off then curse. "Shit, I need to get my car." I rub my temples.

"I'll drive you there and then you give me the key, you can go to work while I handle your things."

Honestly, I don't know if I will manage to even do anything at work. "Alright, but um..." I look at her briefly. "I'm not bothering you, am I? I'll find somewhere real quick, I won't be her-"

"Don't worry about it," she cuts me off. "Stay as long as you need, that's what friends are for anyway."

I smile a little, although I feel nothing at all. "We should go, I'm already late- again."

She chuckles. "Still same old Taylor." She stands up and pull me with her.

I look down, somehow the smile I bothered with vanishing away.  "Yeah..."

Karlie noticed, and pursed her lips, before dragging me to the door and getting us to the lobby and to her car.

I was silent.

"You want to catch lunch together?"

I look up from the glaring screen, and take off my glasses, blinking a few times before seeing who's at my office's door. Chris. "Oh I can't, I need to send this one today, and I still didn't even finish half of it." I smile sheepishly.

"Need help?" He offers, his loose blonde hair falling out of place and he pushes it back.

"No, I got it. Thanks though, enjoy your lunch."

"Catch you later, Swift."

I nod and he leaves at last, I breathe out and lean on my elbows and rub my face. It felt like centuries passed and it's only barely the afternoon. I seriously am considering taking a break, and before I can think my feet are already taking me out of my office and past the cubicles to the elevator in the hallway. What am I even going to say?

Hey sir, I just got cheated on and well my mind keeps getting distracted and I can't focus so I want a little holiday?

Yeah, that'll charm him.

I roll my eyes and shake my head. I walk out of the elevator, going straight to the personal assistant who I thought was Diane, but seems like it's a new blonde one.

"Hey." I force a small smile. She looks up from the computer, and returns the smile.

"Hi, how can I help you?"
