I feel the wall to my right, slowly moving it and stepping carefully on the floor. I find the light switch and turn it on, and look forward at the living room.
It looks like it hadn't been used in a while, and exactly the same to how it looked like when I found myself here that one morning years ago. I walk further in the hallway, and I feel my bare feet touching some fabric.
"Harry," I call out, and look down.
I find a shirt and a jacket on the floor, along with a tie, and I'm certain that's what Harry was wearing earlier. Suddenly I'm scared to see him, what if I catch him doing...stuff with someone else? Like Ray?
Speaking of which, I'd have to talk to her about this thing going between her and Harry if she is here. Maybe he just gave her a ride since they live in the same building?
"Harry?" I call out louder now, and reach his bedroom where the door is wide open. The only source of light being from the window where its curtains are drawn all the way to the corners, and I see the bedspread all a mess. I look at the floor and spot his pants along with the belt, and a couple of pillows too.
What's going on?
I walk inside it and finally hear the sound of the shower in the bathroom. I let out a relieved sigh, and walk through his tiny dressing room to the door in front of me. I knock on it and call his name again, making sure to be loud enough.
"Come on, what are you doing?" I huff and sigh. "I'm tired."
I rub my forehead and decide to wait in his room. Who knows what he could be doing.
I feel my phone vibrate in my purse as I approached his bed and sat on it with my shoulders slouched. I see Martha's name flashing and I slide the green button.
"Hey, did you reach there yet?" She asks right away, I can hear the music in the background and I'm pretty sure she's still at the party.
"Yeah, um..." I contemplate mentioning the fact Harry doesn't exactly know I'm here. "Yeah."
"Great. Did you give it to him? Did everything go well?"
I take a deep breath and purse my lips. "Not exactly..."
"...What? What happened?" She quickly rushes.
I bit my lip. "Don't judge me, but I went inside his apartment BUT only because he didn't answer and yeah well he's in the bathroom and I knocked and he's still not answering so...I don't know. " I breathe out once I finished.
"Are you sure it's him in there?" She whispers.
"Well, I would know his clothes that are scattered on the floor...and his phone is here..."
"Okay."
We both were quiet for a bit, and I can still hear the shower running continuously in an uninterrupted rhythm. That causes me to frown when I realise there is no sound that indicates he's in there. It's just running water.
"Taylor?" Martha catches my attention again.
"Yeah?"
"Did he get out yet?"
"No..."
I hear her breathe near the speaker. "Can you knock again until he replies?" She asks.
"Alright." I frown.
I walk back to the bathroom and knock with my palm this time, "Harry!" I yell. I keep knocking, my palm stinging at this point but I just fist it and knock with the side of my fist. "Harry, open the door!" He can't just not hear all this fuss, I can't help the anxiousness I feel in my chest again, just worse this time. I'm too worried.
