Third Person POV:

" Ugh. Why do I have to be such a fucking screw up? Life would be such a better place if I wasn't here. " Vic whispered to himself while slamming his locker closed. He was starting to think awful thoughts again. He was getting to a low point in life. He was a junior in high school but he was barely hanging on.

His plan was to graduate next year then move far away and go to college and start a new life. He wanted to start fresh. At this point though, he didn't even know if he would make it to graduation. As Vic stepped away from his locker, he was getting pushed right back against it; hard. Oliver. He hated Vic's guts. A day hasn't gone by that Oli hasn't physically or mentally hurt Vic. "And where do you think you're going faggot!?" He put emphasis on the last word. All of Oli's jock friends laughed as silence fell upon Vic. "Huh!? Answer me you bastard!" Oli said, raising his voice and pushing Vic into the locker again, making him hit his head hard.

Vic groaned as he felt a sharp pain shoot to the back of his head. By this time, most of the people in the long corridor were surrounding them. Oli punched Vic in the stomach, sending Vic howling out in pain while dropping his books. Little did Oli know, there were already bruises in that area from earlier that day that his dad had laid upon him. Oli grabbed up the front of Vic's shirt, pulling him off the ground a bit. He pulled his fist back and was about to connect it with Vic's jaw when the bell rang, signaling that their first class was about to start.

Oli squinted his eyes at Vic " You got lucky this time, loser." He scowlled. Oli used Vic's shirt to push him into the locker, then onto the ground. Oli's friends all gave Vic a disgusted look just like everyone else did as they headed towards their classes. Everyone except a raven haired boy towards the back of the big crowd of people. He actually looked sorry and sympathetic, but Vic figured he was just pretending to care, just like so many other people have before. Vic ran into the closest restroom with tears threatening to fall at any moment.

He didn't even bother picking up his books. "You asshole!!" The dark haired boy yelled at Oliver. He didn't care though, he just snickered with his friends. The younger boy went and gathered Vic's materials even though he was out of site. Whilst he was doing that, Vic was about to do something he'd most likely regret when he was done.

"Fuck." Vic growled. "I'm so fucking sorry, Austin..." He whispered as he pulled out the shiny piece of metal that he had grown to love. Austin was once his best friend. He was always there for Vic. He's the one who got Vic to stop harming himself. He thought anyway... He was the only one that knew about Vic's abusive dad and his cutting problem. He was the only one that cared for Vic, and actually made him feel somewhat not worthless. That was until he hung himself in his basement. Fucking hypocrite. After he passed away, Vic was once again left with no one.

Vic figured that Austin wasn't actually the person that he always seemed to be; happy and care free. He was actually having his own little cutting problem himself. Anyways, Austin made Victor PROMISE him, that he wouldn't harm himself again. He had been clean for three months now, he even stayed strong when Austin died. But here he was, sitting in a bathroom stall with a cold piece of metal pressed to his skin. He slid the blade across his right wrist, causing little speckles of blood to show. All of his problems were washing away as he made more and more cuts. Blood started running down his arm at this point.

With every cut, he would just think of how disappointed Austin would be with him which made him just cut deeper. Every thought that he was having was just destroying him. Vic was so occupied with what he was doing, he didn't even notice the bathroom door being opened. "Hello?" Someone asked. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. No one was supposed to be in there. Everyone was supposed to be in class already. "Hey, Vic is it? My names Kellin. I'm in your American Studies and Math periods I'm pretty sure. Is everything okay?... I-I seen what happened out there." Kellin said a little unsure.

Vic didn't answer him, instead he wiped the tears from his face and tried to be quiet while doing it. " We can talk about it if you want. I brought your stuff." Kellin suggested. "T-thanks but um... No thanks. I'm fine." Vic stuttered out, just trying to get the other boy to leave. "I just wan-" Kellin was cut off when the sound of metal clashing to the ground filled the room. FUCK Vic thought, as he scrambled to pick it up. He accidentally dropped it while trying to grab toilet paper to clean it with. While he was picking it up, a few drops of blood fell from his arm onto the floor.

DAMMITTT WHY IS NOTHING WORKING OUT FOR ME Vic wondered as he tried covering everything up. "Um... V-Vic what are you doing?" Kellin asked, suddenly even more worried. "Uhh- Nothing. Please just leave, I'm fine." Vic said urgently. "No, I know what your doing and I'm not going to leave you like this. I know I don't know you all that well but I want to try and at least help!" Kellin said, raising his voice a little.

"There's nothing you can do to help!" Vic yelled at him before starting to cry again. He was never this sensitive until he had to move with his dad. His mom died in a car crash. "Vic please. Open the door. We can go to class together if you want." Kellin said in a more calm tone. Vic was just finishing up wiping up his arm and putting the blade away. "O-Okay." Vic said as he pulled his sleeves down and unlocked the door slowly. When he opened the door, Kellin noticed how broken down the other boy actually looked. His eyes were red and he had dried tear marks on his face. The part of his wrist that was still showing a little, was turning red from the material rubbing across the raw, open cuts. For some reason, Kellin just had the urge to hug him; So he did.

Vic was a little taken aback at first, because the only ones that he's ever gotten hugs from was his mom and Austin. They we're both long gone now, so Vic wasn't really expecting it. He hugged him back though. Even though they didn't know each other, it just felt right. When they pulled away, Kellin handed him his books and they walked to American Studies together.
