"Shit...shit, shit, shit." Negan cursed repeatedly, and I woke up with a frown, rubbing my eyes as I sat up in my seat. "What is it?" I asked sleepily, and my question was soon answered as the car rolled to a slow stop. Negan jiggled the key in the ignition, letting out a frustrated groan before looking over at me. "We're stuck." I looked around, noticing a house down the road a bit, quickly pointing to it. "Think they'd mind?" I asked him as he squinted, looking at the house as he thought. "Guess we're about to find out." he replied as he opened his door, and I followed him out of the car and down the road, my body still sore from the day before. We stepped up onto the porch, and he pulled the screen door open to knock.
We waited for a response, but when we didn't get one Negan opened the door slowly, much to my protests. "Anyone home?" he called out once we were both inside the house, and I let the door close behind me as I looked around, finding that things looked as though the residents left in a hurry. "I guess it's ours for the night." I stated, and he grunted in agreement as he set our stuff down. I headed to the bathroom, excited at the idea of taking a shower as my hair had become greasy. I looked at my reflection, frowning as I quickly bent over to turn on the water, letting the shower warm up as I stripped. Once I deemed the water to be a suitable temperature, I stepped into the tub with a content sigh. The water soaked my hair, running down my back and front as I washed my face, humming lightly to myself. The bathroom floor creaked lightly, and I smiled happily as I saw the shadow behind the curtain. "Decided to join me, huh?" I teased as I pulled the curtain open, but my smile disappeared as I let out a scream.
The man groaned, reaching for me as blood dripped onto the tile from the wound on his arm. His eyes were pale, and there was flesh stuck in his teeth. I slipped, falling into the tub as it grabbed hold of me, and it was about to bite me when a bat came in contact with its skull. I let out a relieved sob as it fell to the floor, and Negan looked down at me with wide eyes. "The backdoor was open, that must've been how he got in." he explained as he helped me to my feet, and I pulled him closer as I wrapped my arms around his neck. "Did it bite you?" he asked in a panicked tone, and his body relaxed when I quickly shook my head no. "Thank god." he breathed out a sigh, and I pulled back to look at him. "Please stay in here with me?"
He looked into my eyes, silently nodding as he began to strip, and I stepped back under the water in an attempt to calm down. The tub creaked as Negan stepped in behind me, his chest pressing against my back as his arms snaked around my waist to hold me. "Why is this happening Negan?" I asked, knowing he wouldn't have the answer I wanted, but needing to ask anyways for my own sanity. "I don't know, but I'm gonna keep you safe." he promised softly into my ear, and I closed my eyes as I tilted my head back, resting it on his shoulder while he rubbed my stomach. I smiled, finding it soothing as I took deep breaths, and he planted light kisses over my neck and shoulder. We just stood there, under the water, for who knows how long, just enjoying each other's comfort.
