------------------------------------------------------

I watch Tobias carefully, looking for any changes. Who knows what it is that Jeanine is giving him? Whatever it is, it can't be good. So far he's remained unconscious, sitting limply in the chair.

I try once again to break out of my restraints but to no avail. They're metal straps. Though I know I couldn't possibly break out of them, I still have to try anyway.

Jeanine walks over to Tobias every once in a while, a few scientists following behind her with clipboards writing down whatever it is they find interesting. She'll shoot me a calculating eyebrow and then walk back into the computer room. I glare daggers at her the entire time.

The doctors took Eric out of here as soon as I was restrained. Whether they're actually helping him or just killed him off, I don't know. And it makes me sick.

A scuffle outside the room gets my attention. The others in the room haven't noticed it yet. Or at least that's what I think until I see Jeanine smirk at me over her shoulder.

Tris sneaks into the room, gun in hand. She stays close to the wall, hiding in the shadows. When she sees Tobias she hurries over to him.

I open my mouth to warn her when I feel a strong surge of electricity rush through me. I open my mouth in a silent scream, feeling the pain invade my senses. I must have blacked out for a few seconds because when I open my eyes, Tris and Tobias are fighting.

I shake my head and blink my eyes to make sure I'm not seeing things, but it's really happening. Tris punches Tobias and he stumbles to the side, but recovers quickly and easily kicks Tris to the ground. He grabs the discarded gun she had brought in and presses it to her temple.

"Tobias, no." I shout weakly. Tobias twitches his head at me but then quickly fixes his gaze once more on Tris. Tris notices me at this moment, and she looks horrified. Tobias closes his eyes and looks away, but Tris is saying something to him, holding his head in her hands. She forces him to look at her, and he opens his eyes, staring deeply at her.

Then Tobias sits up, pulling the gun away from Tris in return. She sits up quickly and presses short kisses to his face, which he happily returns.

Jeanine throws a clipboard to the ground. "It doesn't matter, you're too late."

Tris rushes over to me while Tobias starts fighting the guards who brought him in. She undoes the locking mechanism and helps me stand up, holding my weight for a moment.

"Tris, you're shot." I say, glancing at her shoulder.

She grimaces. "We can worry about that later. How do we shut it down?"

I give her a hopeless look. "I don't know. Listen, Tris, there's something I need to tell you-"

A gun fires, missing Tris and I's heads by a few inches. We drop down to the ground, taking cover behind the chair I was previously seated in.

Tobias and a guard are fighting over a gun, which is why it went off. He throws it in our direction and punches the guy in the nose, causing him to stumble backwards. Blood runs down the front of his face, and the guy seems mildly freaked out about that. Tobias uses his moment of surprise to punch him again, and this time he drops to the ground without getting back up.
