When I crawl out of the darkness that shrouded my mind, I'm immediately greeted by a white light. At first, I thought I died. Then, I realized that if I had died, Christina wouldn't be sitting on the edge of my bed right now.

"Hey, honey, how are you feeling?" She asks me softly. Will is behind her, his arms crossed. Al is standing beside him, concern on his face.

"I hurt. Everywhere." I reply. Someone takes my hand, and I turn my head to see Tris standing there, sorrow in her eyes.

"You look like hell." Al offers, and Christina slaps him.

"Why are you guys dressed like that?" I ask, noticing their clothing. They're wearing black (shocker) workout clothing.

"Eric has called all of us to gather at the trains." Will says.

I push my elbows up off of the bed. "Well, then, let's go."

Christina pushes my shoulder back down onto the bed. I look confusedly at her. "You're out."

"What?" I ask, looking at her like she's crazy.

"We're so sorry, but that's what Eric said." Al says, and I see he's genuinely sorry.

"We have to go." Christina says sadly.

She stands up and kisses me on my head, before saying goodbye. Will and Al give me soft hugs, and then follow Christina. Tris is the last one.

"I'm so sorry. We were supposed to do this together." She whispers, and grabs my hand in hers. I look at our conjoined fingers, and an idea strikes me.

"And we will."

She looks up. "What?"

"I have an idea, but I'm going to need your help."

----------------------------------------

We run. We run as fast as we can. Well, I do anyway. It's harder to run with injuries, and I know I'm going slower than usual. Tris is just being nice by running beside me.

"Are you sure this is going to work?" She asks, taking a breath between each word.

"Nope." I tell her, and continue running.

The train is just 50 feet ahead of us. I'm going to get on that train, and I'm going to make it into Dauntless. That wasn't fair what happened between Peter and I. He played dirty.

I pump my arms at my sides faster, and soon we are 20 feet away. The other initiates are already on, including Eric and Tobias. Hopefully, Eric won't notice my presence for a while.

Tobias sticks his head out of the train, and I see his eyes widen when he sees us. He looks back inside quickly, and then sticks his hand out to us. Tris pushes me forward, and I grab his hand. He holds on tightly, and pulls me up on board. He squeezes my hand, and then let's go. I bend over and put my hands on my knees, taking deep breaths while he helps Tris.

He pulls her up, and grabs her arms. "I thought you two were gone."

I smirk. He's being obvious.

"Nope. You can't lose us that easily." She says back, and he smirks before going back over to the wall of the train, sliding his cold mask on once again. He winks at me, and then acts like he didn't see us.

"Stiff's?" I hear a voice question, and I freeze. I had been hoping I wouldn't see that person for a while.

I turn around and face Eric. His pierced eyebrow is raised, and his face is almost... surprised. But, no, Eric couldn't possibly show emotion.
