"Hey Dan?" Phil called from his bed. He switched between channels on the television. English subtitles, courtesy of the helpful hotel staff, ran at the bottom of the screen.

"Just one second," Dan replied back from the restroom. He stood in front of the bathroom mirror with a straightener in his left hand and a section of hair in his right hand. He gripped the last section with the straightener and ran it through. After switching off the straightener and unplugging it, he grabbed the hairspray and gave a few sprays to his freshly straightened hair. Once satisfied with the look, he went outside and plopped down on his bed beside Phil's.

"Sorry for the wait. Just had to finish my makeup," Dan joked. He flipped non-existence long hair over his shoulder. "What's up?"

Phil looked up from his phone and mustered a small smile. He turned to Dan. "What do you think of Y/N?"

The question caught Dan off guard and he paused before answering. "She's someone I enjoy spending my time with."

"Do you like her more than a friend?"

Dan looked at Phil in the eyes. "I do." A pause. "Are you alright with that? I don't want to ruin anything between us."

"You're my best friend, Dan, and Y/N is my sister." Phil placed his hand on Dan's shoulder. "I trust you. And I'm glad that you found someone that makes you happy." He paused, moved his hand away, and sighed. "But we don't know if Y/N is going to stay in London."

Now it was Dan's turn to sigh. "She doesn't know about how I feel about her so we haven't mentioned that either. I want what's best for her as well."

"She'll have to make that decision eventually."

"So baby pull me closer..."

Thump, thump, thump. Your footsteps fell into the beats of the song. You mentally chuckled to yourself as you continued jogging through the park. Last night you asked Dan last night for access to his Spotify playlist and most of the songs so far consisted of rock songs. But the latest pop electronic song surprised you. Not only that, you were glad that Phil relaxed about the bookstore situation. No other strange incidents occurred.

Once you reached the end of the path inside the park, you spotted a bakery across the street. You glanced at the time. There was just enough time for you to grab some baked goods and head back.

A bell tinkered when you opened the door. The left walls were lined with various breads that emitted smells of warmth and welcome. The left counter also contained a shelf with small cakes, assorted muffins and donuts. You made a beeline for it.

"Bonjour! How may I help you?" A staff member behind the counter greeted you with a smile.

You smiled back. "Bonjour! May I have a strawberry cake, pistachio muffin, and...." You paused as you quickly scanned through the available donuts. One particular one caught your attention. "The special cereal donut, please."

"That'll be fifteen Euros."

You handed over the necessary change and received a white pristine box in return. With a nod of thanks to the cashier, you headed toward the door.

Then you caught sight of Suzy outside the bakery. She glided past the shop while talking on the phone. On her wrist was the same watch you wore on the day of the book signing.

Your phone buzzed. It was a text from Dan.

"Can't wait for dinner tonight :)"
