The doors flew open as they wheeled me on the stretcher. They taped an oxygen mask to my mouth and nose and many doctors were yelling, "in and out". It was very overwhelming; way too many voices going on around me.
Then all of a sudden, one familiar voice was yelling at everyone, saying to back away from the girl. So, all the doctors stepped aside and she came walking up to me, placed her hand right on the brim of my hairline and said quietly to me,
"I called Scott. He is going to find Isaac. Don't worry Arabella, it'll be okay."
"Thank you Ms. McCall," I replied in a muffled voice, since the mask blocked off my tone.
"Call me Melissa," she said winking then she rolled me into a room. She closed the door, hooked me up to a bunch of wires and then looked at me with a questioning look.
"Do you still need the oxygen mask?" she asked.
"No I'm fine. Thanks, I really- I really am fine. My breathing is back into play."
"So what happened? Where is Isaac?"
"I- I don't know. I went out to buy some groceries and I come home and he's not there," my voice trailing off.
She sighs heavily.
"It's okay Arabella. He'll be fine. He has a lot of strength since... you know..." she faded off into a whisper.
I nodded in reply, and tried to smile. She grabbed a blanket from the closet, and put it over me and tucked the corners in. "Get some rest, and you should be feeling fine. If Scott finds out anything, I'l let you know immediately. I know how much he means to you. You two have this bond and it'd be terrible to see it break. Take care love," she kissed my forehead and I smiled, feeling better already.
I shut my eyes, and drifted off into sleep.
