You're My Dad?

Forever and Always.

My schedule didn’t look very difficult. It actually looked easy. Joey said goodbye to me and drove home.

I walked to my first period class and I got immediate attention. I didn’t like it. Some people were talking to the people next to them, others were laughing to themselves. 

I walked up to the teacher’s desk and he handed me a book, a piece of paper and told me to sit next to a girl named Alyssa.

I walked over to her desk and sat down. I placed my stuff on the desk and looked back up. People were still staring at me.

One of them even said, “I think that’s the chick Shane and Joey adopted”.

I was well known because Shane has 5 million subscribers on Youtube. In addition, I learned not too long ago that Joey has a Youtube as well. Joey has about 2 million subscribers. 

Alyssa handed me a note. I unfolded it and it read,

Hey, you are the new girl Hannah… Right?

I heard Shane and Joey adopted you. That must be awesome, having two famous dads. 

I pulled out a pencil and replied,

Yes, my name is Hannah, and yeah Shane and Joey adopted me. It is awesome.

I handed her the note and she laughed to herself.

She handed me a note back about a minute later.

I am Alyssa. We should be friends. However, don’t worry I don’t want to be your friend because of your dads. You seem nice.

I re-read the note twice, maybe even three times. I have a real friend.

I handed her back the note.

Yeah we should be friends. You should come over this weekend. I would have to ask but it sounds like fun.

Alyssa read it, crumpled it up, and pulled out a new piece of paper. She took about 5 minutes to reply but gave it to me.

Yeah! That would be awesome! Text me whenever and we can plan everything out. My number is 775-443-2332. I feel like this is the start of an awesome friendship. We should have lunch together because you’re new. Can I see your schedule?

I handed her my schedule and replied.

Lunch sounds great.

She gave me back the note because her phone number was on it and I put it in my pocket. 

She scanned my schedule with her eyes and she wrote me another note.

We have all the same classes together! This should be fun! Just follow me around. I will show you where to go.

The bell rang, ending the first period. I followed Alyssa around the school all day learning my way around.
