Y/n was nervous. Three days had passed, and she still had yet to leave Hinata’s apartment out of fear of everyone seeing her face. Five years had passed without her saying a word to anyone. She expected Hinata and Naruto to forgive her for disappearing, but she wasn't so sure about anyone else. Not everyone could be so welcoming after being ‘abandoned’ by someone who was supposed to be your friend.

In spite of her protests, Hinata insisted that she go out. The gentle hearted ravenette had spent the three days her friend kept herself cooped up trying to convince her that there was nothing that she should be ashamed of. Her injuries were just a temporary evil, and proof that she was a strong enough to leave before something worse could happen. That, and the simple fact that everyone had missed her like crazy.

She doubted it, but forced herself to pull on a pair of jeans with a clean shirt., throwing on a hoodie in hopes that no one would notice her. He hadn't bothered to try and cover the blackened bruises that surrounded her still swollen eye and jaw. No amount of makeup could ever hide what Jason did to her, a fact made painfully clear as pedestrians looked at her awkwardly as she passed by.

‘I should look for a job. It'll keep me busy, and I won't be a burden to Hinata and Naruto….’

Sighing, you made your way into a small café, giving the girl behind the counter a small smile, “hey… I was just wondering if you were hiring?”

Sasuke sat bored in his car, frustrated that traffic was at a complete stand still because some idiot decided to run a red light, and cause a wreck that would take forever to clear out. The headache from when Sakura and her ‘boyfriend’ had come to collect her things.

It should have been a quick trip. All of her belongings had been packed and set by the front door for her, yet she always had to have the final word. She always had to have a reason to blow up, and cause a scene. He was almost positive that she was upset that he didn't beg for her to stay, or even give her the slightest bit of regret that they were over.

Truth was, after seeing what his old high school rival had gone through, the pinkette didn't seem the least bit worth the frustration. He was convinced that the only reason they had even made it this long was because she was familiar. A constant in his life that he now wished would disappear without damaging the rest of his apartment with her attitude.

Sighing, Sasuke was about to find a way around the wreck, and salvage what time he could at work, but a certain broken looking girl with darkly shaded bruises had stepped out of a small café near him, looking slightly uncomfortable as she pulled her hood further over her eyes to hide her injuries.

For some odd reason, seeing y/n now made his heart pound against his chest. Before he knew it, he had rolled down his window to catch her attention before she could disappear, “L/n!”

She spun around, frowning when she realized who it was calling her name as she walked up. Her arms had been crossed over her chest, hugging herself more out of insecurity than attitude, “what do you want Uchiha. I don't have time to listen to your arrogant-”

“Tch. Get in the car, L/n. We're having lunch. My treat.”

Y/n frowned, letting her eyes narrow down at the ravenette suspiciously, and hugging herself tighter, “n-no. I’d rather not. Last time I was seen with you, I had confronted you about that stupid rumor and ended up in the hospital a few hours later.”

Sasuke rolled his eyes, frowning at a memory he wished he could forget, “consider it an apology, Baka. Just get in the car….” She didn't move, making him sigh as he smoothed over his annoyed tone, “please, Y/n. Let me take you to lunch. After that, if you still hate me, I won't ever bother you again.”
