Screaming. The shrill sound of Y/n crying out in pain and begging for that same pain to end was what forced the exhausted ravenette out of his sleep. His eyes shot wide, immediately bolting from the comfort of his own bed, and bursting through the door of the guestroom where Y/n was staying. The bed where she lay thrashing violently was in disarray, blankets and pillows long forgotten on the floor. Her body was drenched in sweat, and her face dorning the look of pure fear.
It made his stomach churn to see her like this, making him react without blinking as he crawled onto the bed. His hands gripped her wrists as worry filled his obsidian hues, “L/n! L/n, open your damn eyes!”
Nothing.
The sound of her begging for him to let her go, and telling him that she would be a good girl made him cringe. Her tears stained her face heavily, and her lip trembled as pain filled sobs escaped her. It was sickening to witness the kind of mental torment his old rival, and crush had to endure on the account of some twisted bastard.
Growling, Sasuke’s grip tightened as he shook you, desperate for you to open your eyes, “WAKE UP, Y/N! PLEASE WAKE UP!”
Y/n eyes shot wide, filled with salty tears that streamed down her face, mixing with the cold sweat that had coated her skin. Her breath was heavy, making her chest heave frantically to the point of hyperventilation. Her entire body shook violently as she desperately tried to gather her bearings, meeting Sasuke's eyes with trembling lips, “S-Sasuke?”
Keeping a straight face, Sasuke wiped the tears from her eyes, “you're safe, Y/n. I'm here, and you're safe…”
He was caught off guard as Y/n buried her face in his chest, sobbing uncontrollably as she clung tightly to him. Her tears soaked his bare chest, making him frown as he hugged her closer to him. His chin rested on top of her head, glaring at the blank wall, “I’ve got you, Y/n… I've got you… He can't touch you while I'm here…”
“It was so real…” She choked out, breaking apart in the most vulnerable way. “I-I c-could feel him touching me…. He was here…”
Sasuke, forced her to look at him, worry filling his serious obsidian orbs, “He’s not here, Y/n, I am. It was only a dream, a vividly bad dream. Okay?”
She nodded, looking ashamed of herself as she wiped the last of her tears away, “y-yeah…T-thank you for waking me up…”
It was her turn to be taken by surprise as he pressed a lingering kiss to her forehead, making her blush. It was warm, comforting, and completely out of character for the ravenette. The small gesture made her feel safe, protected, and comfortable. Making the faintest of smiles touch her lips as her old rival pressed his forehead against hers, “get some sleep, L/n. We’ll talk more in the morning.”
As he stood to leave, he was stopped by a small, but warm hand grabbing his wrist. When he looked down, Y/n was frowning, blushing slightly as she chewed her bottom lip nervously, “c-can you stay until I fall back to sleep?” His brow raised, making her clear her throat as she averted her eyes from embarrassment, “d-don't get the wrong idea, Uchiha… I-It’s just-”
Smirking softly, Sasuke moved to lay down beside her, pulling her close so that her head rested on his chest, “tch. You don't need to explain anything to me, Y/n. I’ll stay for as long as you need me to. Just try not to think about it, and go back to sleep.”
