The Bastard I Hate

Chapter Thirteen

She went to Japan. Spade went to the Military Academy. And she's never been worse. It's been two months of nothingness. Kahit may cellphone at may Skype at may kung ano ano pang means ng communication,  hindi pwede si Spade. He can't use phones or gadgets. He can't communicate with her and she didn't have any idea how she's going to survive of missing him.

She kept herself busy by learning and learning and applying it.

By the end of her semester at Japan, she was recognized twice by the University. She made Japanese friends. She toured the country and started submitting her portfolio to some of the best companies for an Architech.

Pero kung gaano sya dapat kasaya na unti-unti ng nakukulayan ang mga pangarap nya, parang hindi nya makita si Spade sa lahat ng plano nya. She submitted her portfolio to Japanese companies located in their country instead of her home country. Spade will definitely serve the military. At kung dito ang trabaho na mahahanap nya, kung makalabas na si Spade from the Military Academy, magiging magkahiwalay din sila.

"You can't even send a letter?" Keith asked. I shook my head.

"Bawal daw sa first two years. No communication."

Parang balewala na lang sakanya. Parang ang dali na lang i-share ang masaklap na sitwasyon nila ni Spade.

"Naku ah, siguruhin lang nya na pagsisilbi talaga sa bayan ang ginagawa nya," pagbabanta ni Keith.

"Tapos ikaw naman, fly-sung fly-sung lang sa Japan?" Singit naman ni Cory. Tumango sya.

"You really did accept it? Paano pag lumabas na si Spade?" She can see the worry on Keith's face.

"He would understand. I'm sure magi-guilty yun pag nalaman nya na wala akong ibang ginawa kundi ang hintayin sya." She was full of trust.

"And take note, after school, constant deployment na ang mangyayari sa kanya. So technically, kung talaga kayo forever, forever LDR ang set up nyo," malungkot na paalala ni Cory.

She sighed.

She was not at all ready to fall in love. But yet, she did. And it was not a love for a college girl like everybody else. It was her hardest, most tender love. It's unnerving and flawed and she love every bit of it.

There were silence between them until she saw Cory handing her a tissue.

She creased her brow. Then she realized, her tears fell silently.

She sighed.

"I missed him. I missed him so bad." It went from a silent tears to a sobbed.

She felt Keith's palm rubbing her back and shoulders.

"It's been a year. No messages, nothing from him. And instead of me going mad about it, I just ended up being worried about him. I'm worried if he's eating, if he's being beaten, if he sleeps okay. I'm just full of worried. I'm not there to tell him that he can come back to me. I don't care if he fails. Just, just come back to me," she sobbed hard. There's no way her tears will stop from falling.

"Who the fuck made you cry?" It was the most familiar voice her body recognizes. She cringes and she can hear the pulse beats on her ears.

She quickly stood from seating to one of the benches near the Mango tree.

She has this 'O' sound on her mouth while she sobbed like a baby.

It's Spade. Spade Anthony Fairsleigh.

She ran onto his arms and she was greeted by the warmest and tightest hug he can give.

She just did those baby cry she usually sees in the movies.

"Oh my God. Oh my God," she chimed. She gave an equal amount of tightness on her embrace. She brushee her fingers on his now shaved hair.

He loosen his embrace and kissed her real hard.  She jumped onto him and she answers every bit of his kiss.

The only way for her to stop kissing her is when he was outbalanced.

"Oh my God, I'm sorry. I'm sorry," Thedreis got back up and helped him stand on his feet.

He's laughing.

He built some serious weight at muscle. He's wearing his uniform. At mukha talaga itong kagalang-galang.

"I really thought that it's going to be awkward between us," Spade blurted out as he continue giving him soft kisses on her nose, forehead and lips.

Tinignan ko sya ng masama.

"Baka naman may iba ka na kaya awkward na sayo," pang aaway ni Thedreis.

"My Ace and her deadly stare," Spade whispered.

I embraced him.

"Aherm aherm," agaw ni Keith sa atensyon namin. Natawa si Thedreis. She was totally lost to Spade that she forgot about her friends being there.

"Welcome back," sabay na bati ni Keith at Cory. Ngumiti si Spade.

That smile.

"Thank you for taking care of my Ace while I'm away. And keeping up with her tantrums," pang iinis ni Spade. Hinampas nya si Spade.

Pero imbis na sakanya ang tingin ay nakatingi ito sa kung saan. Sinundan nya din ng tingin ang binibigyan nito ng killer eyes.

A student who's looking at her. Two boys.

"The fuck this kid is looking at?" pag aamok nito.

He's really back. And sigang engineer student na may ari ng school. The one and only, Spade Anthony Fairsleigh

She sniffed and chuckled.

"Welcome back to the bastard I really hate."
