Chapter 23: Nothing But Money?

Chapter 23

"I'm telling you, the whole thing was just beyond amazing." Daniel was still gushing as we drove up to my aunt and uncle's house.

I let out a laugh.

"I heard. Once, twice, a thousand times." I gave him a look.

Daniel stuck his tongue out at me as he put the car into park.

Yesterday, our last day in New York, he had gotten a tour of the hospital from my dad's friend and even got to see a live surgery.

To say Daniel was amazed was an understatement.

It's all he could talk about since he got back.

I endured the entire journey home listening to him rave about it.

"Jordyn Montgomery." Daniel said softly, turning to face me. "You have easily given me one of the best weekends of my life."

I felt a smile cross my face. "I'm glad."

"And I loved spending it with you." Daniel smiled, leaning towards me.

My stomach flipped and I glanced down at his lips.

"Do you have to drop me off so soon?" I whispered.

"I wish I didn't." Daniel whispered, his nose brushing against mine.

"I could think of so many better things that we could be doing." I admitted, letting my lips gently touch his.

"Do you give this treatment to all of your chauffeurs?" Daniel whispered, making my laugh.

He jumped back as I accidentally let out a snort.

"Jordyn!" Daniel exclaimed with a laugh as my eyes widened. "You just spit on me!"

I gasped, covering my mouth with my hand.

"I didn't mean to snort! Since when do I do that?!" I yelped, reaching forward to wipe off the bottom half of his face.

"At least I know I'm funny enough to make you snort." Daniel winked, leaning towards me again.

"I'm so sorry." I whispered.

Daniel placed his lips on mine, giving me a full kiss without any of the teasing crap we'd been doing earlier.

"Much better." I laughed, sliding my hand around the back of his neck as I pulled him towards me.

It was barely ten seconds before there was a knock on Daniel's window.

We pulled apart to see Wallace standing there with an amused look on his face.

"As if you two didn't get enough of that this weekend." Wallace shook his head as Daniel opened up the door to the truck. "Come on, get out, we were just about to head inside to watch a movie."

"Uh, we'll pass on the movie with you two." Daniel shook his head as we both got out of the truck. "I'm sorry but I don't need to see you two macking on each other the entire time."

I grimaced, grabbing my suitcase from the back of Daniel's truck.

"You got that?" He raised his eyebrows as I walked around to join him by Wallace.

"Yes sir." I winked, setting it next to me.

"How was the weekend?" Wallace asked, leaning against the side of the truck.

"Absolutely amazing." Daniel grinned, wrapping his arm around my shoulders.

"Either you two cracked under the sexual tension or you finally admitted you've got genuine feelings for each other?" Wallace raised his eyebrows.
