Pyro- Fire and Ice

it's no surprise opposites attract. so fire and ice should automatically work together. right. It wasn't always that fire and ice balanced each other. the same thing with you and Pyro. You were like Bobby, but instead of just ice, you controlled all forms of Winter precipitation. you even had an ice form like Bobby.

when you first got to 'Charles' School for the Gifted' you and Bobby got along because of your similar mutations. someone you didn't get along with at first was Pyro. You both seemed to always argue when you were alone, and on more than one occasion you tested who had the 'better' power. it always ended with the professor giving you detention and neither of you were aloud to use your powers for a day. 

the professor was like a father to you throughout your stay at the school. since yours left you while you were asleep because he couldn't handle the fact that his daughter was a mutant. so when Jean killed him it hit you hard.

after his death it started getting more difficult for you to control your powers. you soon decided the best thing for everyone was to lock yourself in your room so you wouldn't give the school frostbite. unfortunately when your powers got to out of control; the school's temperature started to drop. Pyro being pyrokenetic he was the one that tried to keep the school as warm as possible. a few weeks into your isolation Pyro decided that he needed to put a stop to the temperature drops and needed to talk to you.

he walked to your door and instantly saw uneaten trays of food laying outside the door. Pyro got more worried for you in that moment as he saw the tray's. he knocked on the door repeatedly and got no response.

"Y/N open up we need to talk" he called through the door and still received no response from you.

"If i have to i will melt this door knob Y/N. i am not kidding around." there was again no answer so he opened his lighter as he sighed. he collected the flames needed to unfreeze your door knob.

the door opened instantly after he melted the knob. once he walked in he realized that he door was at least 20 degrees lower than the rest of the house. he didn't see you anywhere and he checked the bathroom and still didn't see you. he rechecked your room and then he realized he hadn't checked your cupboard. 

once he finally really looked at it he noticed the way the ice seemed to be coming from that point. he carefully walked over and tried to pry the cupboard open but wasn't able to. he couldn't make them budge because of the way you iced them over and over. he took his lighter from his pocket again and collected more flames so that he could get you from your cupboard. it took a few minutes but he melted the doors and opened them to see you lying on the bottom of your cupboard curled up in a fetal position shaking and crying. your eyes were opened wide though and it looked like you hadn't slept in a few days.

"hey y/n you wanna come out of the cupboard for me?" you shook your head and refused to move from from your spot.

"Y/N i need you to calm down a little bit. the whole school is freezing. i know you miss Charles, hell we all do, but i don't think Charles would want his school dying from hypothermia so why don't you jest stop the cold thing you got going on" Pyro tried to make you feel better but it made you feel worse than before.

" i can't, it's my emotions. they are out of control so i can't control my powers. I've tried to stop it but it just gets harder to control. i would if i could but i can't"

"let us  help you then" Pyro tried to reason but you shook your head violently. you shot from yous spot in the cupboard and knocked Pyro over. 

"NO, you do not get to offer me help. Only the Professor can help me and he's dead. if you want to help bring him back. So no you don't get to help me" you yelled and shot him through the now opened door with a block of ice. then you re-closed the door and froze it again so he couldn't come in.

"y/n you can't shut everybody out. everyone misses the professor. locking yourself in your room and not eating, do you really think thats what the professor would have wanted for you. It's not. you're letting your emotions control you and sooner or late its going to hurt someone" Pyro yelled through the door and was slightly muffled through the ice covering the door. you realized what he said and immediately got rid of the ice from the door and the temperature went up throughout the school. 

everyone in the house noticed the drastic change in temperature and felt relieved that Pyro had finally gotten through to you. Pyro smiled softly to himself knowing he did something right.

"Pyro" you said as you opened the door.

"Yeah Y/N"

"thank you" you told him as you wrapped your arms around him.

"Y/N we're fire and ice. we may fight, but in the end we balance each other out" he said as he wrapped his arms around your torso.

you both stood there for some time just hugging each other
