you never cried in front of Tony. Even though you've been going out for 2 years now you didn't want to seem weak in front of him. Tony of course didn't care but you still didn't want to cry in front of the man. Today though was different. You just got news that your closest relative was in an accident and didn't make it. When you got the news you locked yourself in your room in the tower and cried. It started out as silent tears but the more you thought about your family member the louder your cries became.

Tony was on his way to his room to get a change of clothes when he heard the sound of crying. He was confused at first but then he realized it was coming from your room he cautiously walked to your door. He tried to open the door but it was locked so he decided to knock before he did anything else. You heard someone knock on the door but you were crying so hard you couldn't will yourself into standing up and opening the door. When you didn't open the door Tony got JARVIS to unlock your door and he walked in quickly. He found you sitting in front of your bed with your head on your knees as you cried. Tony's heart broke for you as he saw you and he rushed to sit next to you and pull you into his arms. You didn't care anymore if Tony saw you cry because you needed him to comfort you right now.

"What happened honey?" Tony asked you as you began to calm down.

"y/f/r they were in an accident and they didn't make it. I didn't get to say goodbye to them." you whimpered and Tony hugged you tighter before you could go into another crying fit.

"Hey I know you don't feel okay and I know that it'll always hurt I'm here for you. I understand what you're going through and I will be your shoulder to cry on whenever you need it." Tony said quietly against the top of your head and even in your pain you smiled at what he said.

"Thank you so much Tony, I love you"

"I love you to honey" he said and kissed the top of your head.

Steve-

Since you were younger you've been told to hold in your emotions because showing them would make you weak

Since you were younger you've been told to hold in your emotions because showing them would make you weak. You were always told your feelings were inferior and didn't matter as much. That philosophy embedded itself so far into your brain that even now, when you're 28 you still refuse to let your emotions out in front of others. Sure you cried in the shower or when you were sure you were completely alone but never in front of anyone else.
