Eight years later

Stef comes home from work with two little kids. In fact, they are twins named Mariana and Jesus.
"Lena, love, I'm home." Stef called "Callie, love bug, mommy's home."
Callie runs to great her mommy, "Hi mommy." Then she looked at Jesus and Mariana, "Who are these kids, mommy?"
"This is Jesus and his sister, Mariana. They're going to be staying with us for a while." Stef replied
Callie looked confused, "Why? What happened to their mommies?"
"Their mommy can't take care of them so we're going to provide a home for them until she can." Stef explained "Also Callie, bug, not everyone has two mommies like you do. Some people have two daddies, or a mommy and a daddy, others have only a mommy, or sometimes people only have a daddy."
Callie nodded, "Okay mommy." Then she looked at Jesus and Mariana, "Hi Jesus. Hi Mariana. I'm Callie."
"Hi Callie." Jesus replied shyly while Mariana just gave a soft wave.
Stef left the three kids in the living room and walked to the kitchen to talk to Lena. She hoped that maybe Jesus and Mariana would bond with Callie. Or that Callie could maybe get them to open up a little bit. Or even just get Mariana to talk, because that little girl hadn't uttered one word since Stef met her.
"Hi love." Stef said as she kissed her wife's cheek
Lena smiled and kissed her wife on the lips, but pulled away when she heard Callie talking. She looked Stef dead in the eyes and asked very concerned, "Who's our daughter talking to, Stef?"
"I may have agreed to us fostering seven year old twins." Stef replied
"Stef..." Lena started with a sigh
"I know what you're going to say Lena, but you didn't see them sitting in my police station with sad faces." Stef explained
Lena sighed softly, "Okay well then introduce me to them."
Stef smiled softly and walked to the living room with her wife, "Jesus, Mariana, this is my wife, Lena." Then she looked at Lena, "Lena, this is Jesus and his twin sister, Mariana."
"It's nice to meet you, Mariana and Jesus." Lena said with a warm smile "I see you've already met my daughter Callie."
