Chapter 2: The Airport

The car ride to the airport was pretty quiet. I don't think my dad is exactly 'proud' that I'm going off to become a YouTuber. He's always wanted me to become a successful Scientist or use my smarts for the greater good. But when he learnt that I was studying for something that wasn't Maths or Science... lets just say that he wasn't pleased about it... the opposite of my mum...

We arrive at the airport and my dad pulls over to let me out. 'Bye Dad...' I say but he doesn't take his eyes off the road in front of him. 'Goodbye Storm...' he replied flatly. I sigh as he waits for me to leave. 'Dad... Everything's going to be fine... I am using my Smarts for the greater good you know... I'm going to make the World Smile... But I guess if you cant respect my decisions...I guess that's your loss...' I open my door and hop out of the car, taking my bag with me. I go to close the door again but see my Dad gazing at me. His icy blue eyes looking up at me as a soft smile crosses his lips. 'You know Storm... Sometimes... You're too smart for your own good...'  I didn't really know how to take the comment so I just fake pout at him which causes a small chuckle too escape his lips. 'Now... You go show those people how brilliant you are.... As much as I don't like what your doing... I respect your decision and I hope you make me proud...' I think that  has to be the nicest thing my dad has said to me in a while. We don't usually get along very well because of my "different frame of mind" to his so hearing that he respected my decision made a huge smile and laugh erupt from me. 'I will dad. I promise' that's when he gave me a nod then motioned his hand as if shooing me 'Now go before you miss your flight'. I give him one last beaming smile before I shut the door and practically skipped off.

My bulky headphones dangle around my neck as I waddle through the crowds with my bag comfortable positioned on my back. I wondered around the airport for quite some time... It's probably a bad time to say that I've never been on a plane before... Meaning I had never been to an airport before... Well this is just swell. I gaze around at the faceless crowds shuffling passed, either rushing to get to the correct gate or to finally view the many wonders of Australia. I was completely lost. I continue to flash my view from left to right until I finally see a desk. Couldn't hurt to ask for help... I dodge through the zombie hordes, rushing over to the lady behind the desk. She looked to be in her 30's and spread a huge smile across her face when she lifted her eyes away from the computer screen to view me. 'Hi there. How can I help you?' her voice sounded like a recording... too chirpy for it to be real... 'Uhh... I seem to be a little lost... I'm suppose to be on a flight to Los Angeles...I was just wondering if you could point me in the direction of the gate...' She looked back at her computer and quickly typed something in... I don't even think I could type that fast... 'Hmmm... Gate 21... It's just over there' she points over to a sign that contains a huge 21 on it and I sort of feel stupid that it was that close... I turn back to her and force a smile as I feel my cheeks heat up 'Thank you' , 'No problem. Enjoy your flight!' I give a quick nod and head to the 21.

'Ticket please' I sort of jump a little at the voice because I was too focused on getting onto the plan for my 14 hour flight. I quickly stick my hand into my hoodie pocket and pull out an envelope that Pewds sent me. I have no idea what it contained... It came in a parcel along with some textbooks and other things I would need. He sent them a little early as I requested so I could have a quick look through what I would be learning. It came with the this envelope with a note stuck to it.

Dear Storm,

Here are some of the textbooks you will be needing that you asked for. No need to feel scared by them... there can be some pretty crazy stuff but never fear... We have some really amazing teachers that can help you...

Now for the envelope, Don't open it. Take it with you to the airport... When they ask for your ticket just passed them the envelope. They'll know what to do...

Can't wait to see you :)

~Pewds

The envelope was a faded gold colour and was decorated with red designs around the edges. I've had to force my self away from it before I opened it prematurely...
I gaze one last time at the mystical envelope and hand it to the suited man. He blinked a few times at the envelope in his hand then look to me, his smile growing wider which I thought was impossible. He then carefully opened the seal and looked at the contents. It was a letter on gorgeous cream paper that had a golden boarder. Attached to it was my ticket. I watched as the man read through the letter and watched as he looked at my ticket. I sort of had a worried feeling in my gut... What the hell did Pewds do? Sending letters like he's royalty... Like I'm a princess that must be treated with the utter most respect as I fly in style... I really don't want any special treatment...

The man folded the letter back up and placed it back in the envelop, keeping the ticket that was attached. He passed the envelope back to me and sort of bowed 'My name is Terrance... It's a pleasure to meet you... I'll assist you on your journey to L.A.' I could feel that I had a really weird look on my face... I knew Pewds would do something crazy... 'Oh goodness...' I sort of huff which seemed to bring a confused look to his face. 'There is really no need for you to--' , 'Flight 56 to L.A. is now boarding. Please make your way to Gate 21 now' a speaker bellowed, cutting me off. Terrance looked up for the source of the voice but then quickly started to head for the plane 'Come On Storm... I'll show you to your seat' before I could argue, he had made his way closer to the plane. I sighed and started to sprint after him.

I have a feeling that this is going to be a long flight...
