Drusilla tugged at the ropes with all her strength. Her breathing became heavier as she struggled. The clanking of swords became more intense and more frequent. She had only hoped she could do something before the boy would lose his life. There was no way for Drusilla to know what was going on up on the deck, but she had assumed the worst. And well, you and I know she was right. Captain Naveen himself was dueling with this boy, for the sheer fun of it. Drusilla had watched these types of events before. The pirates of this ship were fools, but they were ruthless fools and would never resist having a little 'play time'.

Suddenly the clanking stopped. Drusilla became worried, she pulled at her ropes even harder. Just as she had almost eased a hand out of her bond the shattering sound of metal on metal began again, even louder this time. Drusilla ripped her hand out of the rope and used it to untie the other ropes binding her feet. Her hands were bloody and battered but she took no mind and tried to stand. Her legs gave out on her, but she pulled herself up and took small steps toward the door. Soon her legs were beginning to wake up and realize what she wanted from them. Looking around she saw a tall spear rack, she pulled off the bars and took two of the spears down. They were heavy but she needed something to help her through this foolish attempt to save a stranger. She knew it was stupid, and she pitied herself for it. But even if this was the last thing she did, at least it would be noble right?

She dragged herself up the stairs using the spears as stabilizers for her weak body. She honestly didn't know what good she could possibly do in this state, but she couldn't and wouldn't sit down there doing nothing like she had in the past. Those nightmares still haunted her. Thinking she could have done something, she could have saved those innocent lives. People who had been captured on the ship and taken in the same way this boy was about to be. Innocent ones. People who never deserved what they had received, and she had sat away doing nothing, trying to hide. She wouldn't do that again, not to this boy. No. He was different. He was strong. But strong enough to escape Naveen? Not likely. Nobody was.

Drusilla began to see the light at the top of the agonizingly long staircase. She blinked and stopped to catch her breath. This was it. Now or never. Gathering all the strength she had, both mentally and physically, she stepped out of the cellar onto the top deck. She blinked at the bright daylight and saw Alexander on the ground with Naveen's sword on the edge of his throat.
