The sly bitch has called Fury into the room without me knowing. I'm impressed. It was five minutes, tops, after I pinned down Loki that SHIELD agents infiltrated the room. Fury walked in a second later. He smirked when he saw what I did.
"Not the heartwarming family reunion they show in movies, huh?" He joked. I growled. Loki winced in pain. "Alright let him go." I looked down, my eyes narrowing. "Don't make me ask a second time." I took my foot off his chest and offered him a hand up. Hesitantly, he accepted and I helped him onto his feet.
"What do you want?" I snapped. He laughed.
"Like you said, it's time for you to go." I raised an eyebrow. Was he really agreeing with me? Might not be the best option to question his judgement. "But not back into the world, no. You're going to the Avengers' tower." I scowled.
"You want me there?" I asked. He nodded. "Are you thinking clearly? A house full of Avenges and you think I'm just going to what- bake cookies for them?" I shook my head. "Not gonna happen, Nicholas."
"Actually, only a few of the Avengers remain." He corrected. Stark looked surprised. "After you left-" I cleared my throat. He eyed me. "-they left, got their own houses, moved on." I looked to Stark. She looked at me apologetically.
"Who's left?" Stark asked. Fury looked to her.
"Your parents, Peter, Morgan's parents-" I rolled my eyes. Loki looked over at me. "-and, occasionally, Thor." Stark nodded. He turned back to me. "You are free to go." I smiled as I walked out of the cage. Passing him, I stopped.
"Don't think this makes up for the sixteen years of my life you stole from me." I whispered before patting his chest and walking away. Emily and Loki followed.
Once outside, I saw this huge jet was waiting outside. Standing by the entry was this balding man in a black suit. He smiled at me as I approached him.
"Ah Miss Banner. Nice to finally see you again." He greeted. I gave him a fake smile. Emily and Loki caught up to me.
"Yes, nice to see you too." I agreed before walking onto the jet. Someone was already inside the jet; a blonde haired man wearing a dark blue shirt. I snorted as he turned his attention to me. "Hello Captain." I greeted. He looked at me skeptically before looking over my shoulder. I sat down across from him as Emily walked in. She froze when she saw him.
"Mom?" She squeaked. So Flag Boy was Flag Girl's mom? Wow. Flag Boy smirked softly.
"I heard you were with Morgan-" I rolled my eyes as Loki sat down beside me. "-so I jumped aboard the jet." She smiled faintly as she sat down across from Loki. "So, um, how are you?"
"I'm fine." She said softly. I watched in amusement. "Jason and I. . . We, uh, got married thirteen years ago." Blondie's eyes widened. She laughed slightly. "Yeah. He proposed on my twenty-first birthday, we got married that Christmas." Blondie looked hurt.
"Why didn't you tell us?" She shrugged.
"I told Peter." She mumbled. They fell silent. Stark looked to me. "Do you silently judge everyone you meet?" I raised an eyebrow before smirking and nodding. She wrapped her arms around herself. That's when I noticed that one of her arms was metal. "Can you not?" She asked. I shrugged and looked away. I looked around the jet.
"What does a girl have to do to get some food around here?" I joked. Loki laughed quietly. "You kinda made me lose my lunch earlier." Flag Boy looked down. Loki placed his hand on my thigh. I straightened. Blondie looked intrigued.
"There'll be food when we get back." He assured me. I snapped my head in his direction.
"You get your hand off me before I cut it off your body." He pulled his hand away. I looked straight again. "Thank you." I grumbled. The jet went silent after that. "I know you're dying to ask, Captain, so just shoot." He looked surprised but then recomposed himself.
"What did HYDRA do to you?" He asked. Loki and Emily looked away. I smirked.
"Well they weren't as warm and fuzzy as I'm sure you were but they got the job done." I stated. "They raised me from birth-" Loki cleared his throat. I glared at him. "-and once I was old enough they trained me to do what the Winter Soldier once did. Just stealthier." Blondie leaned back. "Every now and then they would experiment on me." Everyone was stunned. I shrugged, sitting back in my seat and crossing my legs. "Nothing I couldn't handle."
"They once wanted to turn me into the Winter Soldier." Stark stated. I smirked.
"Is that where you got the arm?" She glared at me. My smirk grew. "I'm taking that as a yes."
"You know who you would be really great friends with?" She asked. "Natasha Romanoff." I shrugged. She looked away. Blondie went to comfort her but then thought better of it. I looked to the exit.
"Let me guess, daddy dearest is waiting there for me?" I asked.
"Among others." Loki responded. I looked straight ahead again.
"Cute." I remarked. The rest of the ride was silent.
When we landed, everyone stood up to leave. I stayed still for a moment before deciding to follow everyone else. Blondie and Loki walked right in without a problem. Stark hesitated. I smirked.
"Something wrong?" I asked. She looked to me.
"I haven't been here since sixteen years ago." She admitted, looking back at the tower. "It's not like we left on the best of terms. And sure, I had contact with my brother, but what if everyone hates me?" She looked back to me. I looked to her. "Or what if I still hate everyone? Or-or what if they forgot about me?" I softened slightly, placing my hand in between her shoulder blades.
"If they are in any part the family you once knew, I'm sure they'll remember you."
