It's my birthday?

With a groan, I woke up this morning and checked the calendar; April 15th. Nothing special. So I walked downstairs to find no one there and that the lights were off. Narrowing my eyes, I made two daggers appear in my hands and switched the lights on. If it came down to a fight, I would like to at least see the attacker.

"Surprise!!!" Everyone yelled as they jumped out from different locations. Well, everyone jumped except for Peter, he just stood up. But I wouldn't expect him to jump up. I wouldn't expect anyone to jump up. After a second to recalibrate, the daggers vanished as I straightened, tilting my head up slightly.

"Alright." I stated slowly. Everyone grew confused.

"It's your birthday!" Mom clarified as he walked over and gave me a hug. "You're seventeen now." I raised an eyebrow, pulling away. I still didn't like hugs unless they were from Tyler.

"It's my birthday?" I repeated. Mom stared at me in confusion.

"Did HYDRA not tell you when your birthday was?" I shook my head.

"No." I stated. "We didn't have calendars on the base. But my file had my birth year." Mom raised an eyebrow. "I caught a glimpse of it once." I defended. "And I know when a year pasts. I'm not an idiot." Mom threw his hands up in surrender. I inhaled. "I'm surprised you remembered my birthday." I commented.

"Why wouldn't I? You're still my daughter." I rolled my eyes before walking over to Peter and Emily who were now standing next to each other. They were smiling brightly as they watched me approach.

"Did you do this?" I asked as I gestured to all the streamers and shit that decorated the living room. They shook their heads, their smiles staying intact. "Then who did?"

"Your mother, of course!" Emily exclaimed. I nodded slightly. "And so did Tyler." She added. "But we did help." I looked around at all the green and black decorations. Someone made the poor choice of hugging me from behind. I turned sharply, my fist coming inches away from their arm but the figure had caught it. My gaze darted to the figure's face only to meet familiar dark blue eyes. With a sigh, I relaxed and smiled at my boyfriend.

"You have to stop doing that." I scolded. "One of these days I will actually hurt you." He smirked, letting go of my fist so he could wrap his arms around my waist. I wrapped my around his neck.

"Eliza, if you wanted to hurt me you would've done it by now. Face it, you're going soft." I snorted.

"Am not." I argued, leaning in closer to give him a kiss. Tyler kissed back before resting his head on my forehead.

"So are you gonna stay in your pajamas all day or. . .?" He smirked. I rolled my eyes before snapping my fingers, my pajamas turning into black skinny jeans and a green shirt. Tyler kissed my nose lightly. "Happy birthday, princess."

"Why thank you." I pulled away with a smirk, turning back to Emily and Peter before giving them a hug. "And thank you guys for helping set this up."

"No problem." Emily replied as she ruffled my hair. I scowled at her as I smoothed it down, discreetly using my magic to brush it. I looked around at everyone.

"Where's Wade?" I asked upon not seeing the cancer survivor.

"He went to get you a present even though I told him to do it a week ago." Peter answered. I laughed.

"Why couldn't you have just gotten it?" I joked. He looked down at his seven month pregnant stomach.

"Because she hasn't stopped kicking and it's gotten pretty uncomfortable." I shook my head with a smile.

"You don't have to get me gifts. None of you do." Peter and Emily scoffed. "And you certainly didn't have to throw a party.

"But it's our first birthday with you." Peter cooed. "Of course we had to throw a party and get you gifts." I rolled my eyes. "We even made you a cake."

"Pete, as much as I love you, your maternal instincts are showing." He rolled his eyes playfully. I smirked. Tyler wrapped his arms around me from behind, resting his chin on my shoulder.

"Since it is your first birthday, does that mean we get to shove cake in your mouth?" He whispered in my ear. I raised an eyebrow.

"You know, I could just spit all over the cake and have it all to myself." I remarked. "But that's weird. If we ever have kids we are not going to watch as they shove cake into their mouths. We will help them eat so they don't look disgusting afterwards." Tyler laughed, kissing my cheek. Wade came back minutes later.

"Happy birthday, kiddo." He said as he placed the present down before giving me a hug.

"Thanks." I said. Wade ruffled my hair as he pulled away to give Peter a kiss. I rolled my eyes as I fixed my hair for the second time that day.

"Open your presents!" Anthony yelled. I sighed as I walked over to the pile of presents and sat down. Tyler cane over and sat down next to me. I kissed his cheek before I started to open the presents. Everyone turned their attention to me.

After what felt like a hundred presents later, I was done finally opening them. I got a set of books, each bigger than the last, from the Barnes family, the movie series to go along with the books from the Stark, a pair of fake earrings from the Howlett, some clothes from the Barton-Maximoff family which includes Wanda, some Asgardian thing from Thor, and some boardgames from the Parker/Wilson duo. Sure, all of that was cool and all but I liked mom's present a whole lot more. Mom gave me a picture of the three of us. It was the day I came back so I was still wearing my suit and dad was still alive. Mom noticed that I had stopped and stared at the picture so he wrapped me in a hug.

"JARVIS likes taking pictures of us." He started to explain. "So I looked through all of the pictures he took and found this one. I hope you like it." I smiled faintly, my fingers trailing along the glass lightly.

"I love it. Thanks mom." I carefully set it aside and went to stand up when Tyler pulled me back down. Raising an eyebrow, I complied.

"You didn't open my gift." He whispered, handing me a box wrapped in black paper. Hesitantly, I took the box and unwrapped it. My brows furrowed when I saw what was inside. "Pull it out." He told me. I raised an eyebrow but pulled out the dagger. Everyone suddenly became captivated by our conversation.

"It's a dagger." I stated, pointing out the obvious. He nodded. "Why is it a dagger?" I reworded after I didn't get an explanation. He kissed my cheek.

"So you don't have to waste your energy on creating daggers, you'll have a permanent one." I nodded, twirling the dagger around in my hand. Tyler started laughing when I started to pantomime stabbing and slashing with it. "It's also made out of the melted metal they used for my father's first metal arm." I raised an eyebrow, turning to look at the redhead. "To always remind you-"

"To remind me that there's always a light side to whatever life throws at me." I finished. He nodded.

"That, and HYDRA doesn't stand a chance against you." I snorted. He kissed me softly before I set the dagger back in the box and turned to face everyone else.

"Who wants cake for breakfast?"
