Everything was white. Bright and shiny furniture filled the room. He realized that it was in fact the main room in the manor. He himself was in a completely white outfit. Suddenly a figure came speeding in.
"Wally?" He said weakly.
"Hey there Dickie." Wally's familiar smile lit up the room.
"Don't call me that." But he was smiling too much to actually mean it. Without really thinking, Dick went in for a hug. Wally didn't even flinch and hugged him back. Pulling back, Dick asked:
"What is this place?" Wally was silent for a moment, pondering on the best words to describe the place.
"I hate to break it to you Dick, but your kinda almost dead. So technically this is like a waiting room to whatever is after death."
"You mean you don't know what's after?" Dick asked, hopeful that Wally might actually be in some sort of state Dick was in.
"Well, it's different for everyone I think." Dick's hopes were crushed.
"So, what do you mean I'm almost dead?"
"You, uh, are in a coma." Wally said, scratching his head.
"What? How?" Dick looked around frantically.
"You blacked out after getting shot. Tim and Barbara found you and were bringing you to a hospital in Boston and on the way you guys got into a car accident."
"What? Are Tim and Barbara okay?"
"Yeah, uh, Barbara got a broken arm and Tim needs stitches, but dude, you got the worst of it. You crashed through the front window." As Wally finished, things stared falling over and the walls were shaking.
"What's happening?" Dick asked, wide-eyed.
"You're seizing!" Wally grabbed him by the shoulders. "You need to wake up!"
"Huh? How?"
"Just wake up!" Wally slapped him.

Beep Beep Beep
"His heart rate is normal."
"I think he's coming to." Bright lights shone in his eyes. Dick tried to sit up, but he got really dizzy and he's eyes rolled back into his head. A nurse shoved a needle in his arm.
"We're going to need to run some tests, but we can't have you spazzing out. This will help you sleep while we do them, okay?"
Dick half nodded and was overcome by darkness.
