Dear 2016,
Goodbye and farewell. You had been one hell of a year but myself and a lot of other people are not sad to see you leave. We welcome 2017 with open arms, heart and mind, whereas with you... We kick you out of the way like one would do with a dirty rag.
Dear 2017,
Hi, hello, welcome! Please be a better year than 2016, the world deserves that off of you.
Now too the readers of this letter book. Happy New Year! I hope that 2017 will be your/our year. May it bring you prosperity, love, kindness, happiness and peace. 2017 will be a better year, it will be kind and honest. To the kids who will be starting their final year of school, good luck! You'll be fine, just remember to breath, and not stress. A number is not worth the anxiety and panic. To the people who are unsure of life in a sense to live, love and accept. I encourage you to step forward! If you're of the LGBTQ+ community, this is your year! You're all beautiful people who should not feel the need to hide yourself in fear, or hurt. You have the right to express yourselves! To the people who are fighting a dark cloud, I love you. You are worth the life you have been given! And I know everyone says this, but it'll get better, you will heal of negativity with time. If you need to talk, I am always here and so are your family and friends! We love you just the same. And finally to everyone, accept. Accept the fact that the world is made up of colours, race, religions and different sexuality and genders. Accept the fact that this is 2017, grow up and love, cherish and protect your neighbours, friends, family and community. Everyone is worth the fight and struggle. Sunday January 1st 2017 marks a new day of your 365 day story, so write a damn good one you'll love and remember.
As Ellen Degeneres says at the end of every show, "Be Kind To One Another." Our world is a dark and mysterious place, lets make 2017 a bright year, a light in the darkness.
Happy New Year everyone! May it bring you hope, love and happiness. Please be safe, and careful if driving, or drinking alcoholic beverages and if not, in general be careful of your surroundings these new year celebrations.
