*Rory's POV*
Rory was busily hanging up a Happy Birthday, Amy! sign when River swaggered her way into the TARDIS.
Rory heard the T.A.R.D.I.S door open, and turned his head around too quickly. "Amy!" he cried, falling off the step-ladder, "You're early!"
"It's not Amy," River's voice called back in an amused tone.
River walked in and saw Rory on the ground. "Are you alright?" she asked extending her hand, "You took quite a fall. You simply must be more careful, darling. We don't want you getting banged up now, do we?"
"I'm fine. Just a little headache now," Rory groaned, taking River's hand. "Thanks," he added when River helped him up.
"You're welcome. So," River grinned clapping her hands together, "What day is it and where are we now?"
"It's Amy's birthday and we're somewhere in North Carolina," Rory answered, rubbing the back of his head, "the Doctor and I realized she hadn't celebrated it in a while, so we figured it be a nice surprise and a nice way to relax after- you know- the things with the Angels and the universe resetting."
"You sent the Doctor to distract Amy?" River asked, looking around the balloon-covered room. River could tell Rory had been busy, there was even a birthday cake in the corner of the room under a glass dish.
"Yeah," Rory answered with a nod, "Erm- he should be back in a few hours, so if you needed to see him for something, you can wait here. He's supposed to keep Amy distracted until 5:30."
River smiled. "Wonderful! I'll be in the library if you need me and please call me when Amy and the Doctor return," River said, walking to a hallway.
Rory began to call after the time-traveler and ask for her help, but when he realized she had already left, Rory thought better of it and went back to the stepladder.

*Chris' POV* *A few minutes before*
I was walking through town as I normally do on Saturdays, when I heard three hoarse whispers behind me. I turned around to find three coal-black figures so skinny you could see every rib. Their eyes were sunken into nothing and they were hunch-backed with a long bump going across their spines. They looked human-ish, but at the same time they looked like they had came straight Alien3 just with out the elongated heads and weird mouths.
"Chrisssssssss..." the one in the middle hissed eerily. Nope! I'm out, not dealing with these freakazoids today! I mentally screramed as I tried to move. Sadly, that was the moment when my body decided to be a stupid rebellious body and not move when I told it to move.
"What do you want?" I asked shakily.
"Where issssssss it?" the one on the left asked in a raspy voice, as if I knew what 'it' was.
"Where is what?" I asked too petrified to move.
"The T.A.R.D.I.SSSSSSSSSSSSS...." the one on the right said in a hoarse whisper.
"What's a T.A.R.D.I.S? I don't know what that is!" I yelled. What was with people/things and asking me for stuff I don't! Where's the Doctor? What's his true name? Where is Amelia Pond? I've been getting questions like that all day and it was driving me nuts! Now here were these human exoskeleton wannabes asking me where a stinking TARDIS was.
"You know..."
"No, I don't!" I said, shaking my head. What could I do? Should I fight? No. On the count of 3 I'll run, I thought. 1, 2...
