*Doctor's POV*
"Doctor," Amy said as the two walked through a small, quiet street on a warm and sunny afternoon, "Where exactly are we?"
"Hmmmmmm, somewhere in America. North Carolina, I think," the Doctor replied happily, smiling proudly because for once, he knew something Amy didn't. Rory and the Doctor had a special surprise for Amy, and it was the Doctor's job to make sure she didn't find out the date and she didn't return to the TARDIS until Rory called. So, the Doctor had pressed a few buttons and set the destination for 'random' in hopes that they would end up somewhere new and fascinating.
It was new alright- the Doctor had never been to the Southern state in this year before- but, it was exactly fascinating. They were walking down what should have been a farmer's market, only there was no market. Or farmers; no one was around and the market was dead silent. It was very odd considering today was a Saturday, a day humans usually spent outside meandering in these kinds of places, casually looking through each stall and sampling its wares.
"Why are we here?" Amy asked looking at a chalkboard sign that advertised fresh tomatoes and leeks.
"Well, it was supposed to be the planet Gorone, but the T.A.R.D.I.S detected hostile alien life stuff and brought us here instead," the Doctor said, trying to think of the quickest way out of such a conversation and going with whatever popped into his head first. If worst came to worst, he could always just say the TARDIS had been mistaken.
"Then why aren't you doing your usual 'sonicing'?" Amy asked suspiciously, standing up and turning suddenly to face the Doctor with her arms crossed. Uh-oh, the Doctor knew that look and pose; it was the same pose she pulled when the Doctor was up to something- and she knew it- but he wouldn't tell her what she wanted to know. It was her 'no-nosense-because-I-know-something's-up-and-you-refuse-to-tell-me' pose.
"I am doing my usual sonicing!" the Doctor said quickly as he pulled out his Sonic Screwdriver and began scanning the area, "You just didn't noticed with your face looking at the sign that's being all... sign-ish!"
Amy smirked and asked, "Doctor, why did we leave Rory on the T.A.R.D.I.S?"
"Because," the Doctor stated nervously. His mind wasn't telling his mouth what to say at the moment, and Amy had backed him into a metaphorical corner, "He's a centurion and the T.A.R.D.I.S detected hostile aliens. The mean kind not the fun kind."
"But we never leave Rory for adventures," Amy argued, "Doctor. Don't lie what's Rory doing?" Amy said as she gave him her best don't-even-think-about-lying look.
Doctor looked in her eyes and bit his lip. Amy raised an eyebrow and tilted her head slightly. The Doctor sighed, "He's making you a surprise and I'm supposed to distract you."
Amy rolled her eyes with a slight smile. She started walking in the direction of the T.A.R.D.I.S. "We're going back."
The Doctor ran in front of her, waving his hands in her face. "No no no no! I'm supposed to keep you distracted! Let me be... the Distractor!" he cried, before stopping and placing a hand to his chin thoughtfully, "I knew a Timelord named the Distractor, once. He was a funny little bloke, very annoying though. And very distracting." the Doctor rambled, looking around, "Why is this place deserted? It must be noon, it should be bustling!"
Amy laughed as she continued to walk back to the TARDIS. The Doctor was running out of ideas, so he tried to pull her to a different direction. It wasn't working and the Doctor thought he was going to be defeated in his attempts at distracting when she and the Doctor heard a scream. "HELP!" the voice cried.
The Doctor and Amy turned to the direction of the voice and ran, not missing a beat or stopping to think about what they were getting into. It had become an instinct now, running to help when called for. The pounding of his feet fell into the familiar rhythm as scenarios and plans ran through his mind. What could be happening? An alien attack? A play? A very cliche robber trying to steal someone's purse?
The duo came to a dank alley and saw a brown-haired frightened girl who didn't look much older than fifteen. She was cornered by three human-looking creatures with skin the color of coal and bulges at their backs. She looked up with a terrified facial expression and panic shining through her blue eyes as she brandished a metal pipe at her attackers. "Help! Somebody!" she cried again. The Doctor froze.
A memory rose up from the back of the Doctor's mind, one he hadn't thought of in years; one he tried not to think of, because it brought him too much pain in his hearts. It was the memory of a girl from Gallifrey and her laugh. Even now he could hear it, that laugh that had always made him smile and laugh along; even though it had been so long since he had last seen her, he could still picture her perfectly.
"Writer?" the Doctor whispered in disbelief.

Wotcher!!
For the people who wanted me to write a Doctor Who fan-fiction here you go!! Sorry it's so short, but it is a prologue.
Who is Writer? Who is this mysterious girl? What surprise is Rory planning?
For the record this will not be a romance so it won't have some mysterious Time Lady the Doctor used to be in love with, I don't write stories like that. I try to make fan-fictions with plots not many people use. =D8

P.S. Just like Life of a Blood Traitor has Wrock music with each chapter I'll try to post Chameleon Circuit music on each of these chapters.
