Juliet's First Date

"Hey....." A guy with cute dimples came up to me.

"Hi." I said with a flashing smile.

Seriously, I was super happy. Our science project was a huge success. It was related with how to use solar energy in a cheap manner by using a device we have named Solohome. It was being appreciated by all the institutions present and I was feeling like a celebrity. We had also won the first prize. Oh! Did I mentioned I embarrassed myself by bursting into tears in Michael's arms.

"Congrats." The guy said.

"Thanks." I replied.

I was accustomed with the word. So many people had congratulated us. So, it was no surprise for me.

Instead of leaving, however, the guy rested his elbows on the table in front of me and looked at me with a grin.

"So, is that guy with black hair your boyfriend?"

I blushed a little and then glared at him. Can't he mind his own business?

" That's none of your concern Mr. Know it all, but if it may concern you.... I am absolutely single."

"Oh!" He replied. But, his eyes lit up.

I turned to leave, a bit annoyed.

"By the way, I am Peter Polsten."

" Juliet Waters." I said.

He took out his hand and I shook it. He winked at me.

"Hope to see you soon Ms. Juliet."

I rolled my eyes vigorously.

But I could not help noticing the guy's handsome features and curly but cute hair.

"Checking me out?" He asked, perhaps noticing my stare.

I blushed and retorted, "You wish."

He came really close to me, "I know you are attracted by me Miss Juliet. And you must know something to, I like you a lot. Are you free tomorrow night?"

I nodded.

"Great. I'll take you out for dinner." He said.

I opened my mouth. But, he left leaving my mouth hanging in the air.

"Peter Polsten? Are you kidding me Juliet? He is THE MOST GORGEOUS GUY in Trinity School." Carol half yelled at me.

"How come you get the hottest guys, Juliet?" Nancy wondered.

Only Miranda kept quiet. She was looking a bit upset.

"Hey Miranda, are you okay?" I asked.

" I'm fine Juliet. I need to find Michael. Enjoy your date." She said hurriedly.

Miranda, wait!" I shouted.

But it was too late, MIranda had left.

"What's up with her?" I wondered aloud.

"Dunno. She ought to be fine. Do not worry so much honey. Let's get you ready for your very first date." Carol grinned.

The three of us made our way to my home.

"Hi Ms. Waters." Carol and Nancy greeted mummy.

Oh! I forgot to mention before. I took up my mum's surname. Technically, I don't even know my dad's surname. He left when I was a baby. I don't remember him at all.
