Eliza's Perspective:
I heard beeps. Every so often it would go off."When do you think she'll wake up?" I heard a female voice say.
"Soon, m'am. She should be okay."
A door opens and shuts.
I try to open my mouth to speak, but I don't succeed.Just concentrate, Eli.
I breathe in and I hear shuffling almost immediately. "Eliza? Are you awake?" I hear. I try to open my mouth again.Still no success.
Focus, Eli. You can do it.
I centered all my thoughts on my voice."DOCTOR! She's awake!"
I still see darkness."W-where am I?" I croak out.
Then everything came back to me.
Dean. Emily. Demons...
My grandfather.
I sat up. My mom was beside me, her hand resting on my arm as the doctor walked in. "What's going on?" I ask.
"You awoke from surgery. And you may notice that you cannot see, there's a cloth over your eyes to protect your sight for now."
I nod.
"But the surgery was a huge success, you're alive for sure."
"When will I be able to take off the cloth?" I questioned.
"Right...about...now." I felt the cloth being taken off of my eyes and the bright light from the sun through the window was the first thing I saw.
"There she is." My mom smiled.
"B-but you're dead. And w-where's Emily? And grandfather?" I stammered out.
My mother frowned.
"Honey, I think that was all a dream. The medicine must've done that to you."
Wait...
"Medicine? Like, they drugged me?"
"Not in a bad way, but yes."
💀💀💀
It's my first day back at school and people started talking to me. Turns out my eyes had something thrown into them that caused major gashes in my pupils. They rushed me to the hospital and I had been drugged immediately. I was there for about 4 weeks to a month.
"Alright class, we've got a couple announcements. One being that your classmate Eliza has officially recovered and is now back in school," he paused and I slightly waved and smiled," and we've got a new student. Please stand up and introduce yourself, sir." The teacher ushered to a boy in the back.He stood up slowly.
"I'm Dean DelaGrosso." He announced.Dean does exist.
My jaw dropped and he looked over at me.
"Close your mouth, frog, you'll catch flies." One girl shouted towards me.He winked at me and took a seat.
What a way to start off school. I thought to myself and turned around in my seat as the lesson began...
