" The book. Look for the book."

💀💀💀

The voices were back. I didn't want to stress my mother. I jogged to my room and shut it carefully.

" What book?", I ask aloud.

" Attic. Go at midnight. Ruby gem shall lead you the rest of the way. Be careful, Blood moon child. Looks will deceive you, but only your eyes shall land on the true book."
Now we wait...

💀💀💀

It's time. It's 11:59 p.m. I have my flashlight. I grabbed my mother's pocket knife, just as a precaution. Then, the voices go off:
" 12:00. It's midnight. Proceed with caution."
I carefully unlock my door and head towards the attic latter. I slowly pull it down and climb up. My mother left the attic unlocked... hmm...
I walk inside and the gem on my necklace dimly lit up. I follow where the light shines.

" My voice. Can you still hear me?"

I stood still. That voice. It was closer, as if it was in the attic.
" Yes, I can hear you. Who are you? Leave me alone!", I say.

" Don't fear me. I'll show myself once you find that little book."

The voice was so real. And it didn't sound female. I thought it was...

💀💀💀

I had been up in this attic for almost an hour, searching high & low. Until my necklace started glowing so bright, it was blinding.

" Follow the light."

I did. And sure enough, there was a big black book on the floor. And on the cover, was blood, it spelled out:
'Blood Moon Children History.'
" Okay, I found the book. Now show yourself." I say.

" Do I have to?"

" Yes, you said you would."
I hear shuffling. Then, a cold breeze on my shoulder. I begin to question whether or not this is all a dream. A very realistic dream. But my thoughts were disrupted when the voice spoke up again.

" Boo."
I turn around and there was...

Nothing there. I sighed and gave up.

I grabbed the book and my flashlight and headed down to my room. As soon as I got to my room, my mom's door opened.
I quickly hid the book under my shirt.

" What are you doing up at this our?" she asks, a suspicious look on her face.

" Had to use the bathroom." I lied.

I went into my room and shut the door, locking it behind me.
" Hey."
" Leave me alone." I say, as I began to change into my sleeping gown. I finished changing and turned to my bed....
" Nice to see you."
There it was. A dark shadow lurking over my bed.
" Who are you?" I asked.

" Your voice. Your angel. Your guardian."

"And?"

"No 'thanks'?"

Ugh. Guardian?

More like a pain in the neck.
