[Chapter 8] My Faith in you was Fading.

∞Isabella’s PoV∞

I had never been more furious, nor felt more betrayed. I was heartbroken. I was so sure, so confident just hours ago, now suddenly it all came crashing down like a house of cards touched by a breath of wind.

I can’t believe he’d do this to me.  Unlike my usual self, I’d given my trust so easily to him, I’d given it all to him and he just left when he thought things were getting hard.

I couldn’t believe I’d been willing to risk everything on him. Now that he’d done this it was like I’d seen the light, the illusion I’d been having was smashed, and gone, I now knew my fate. To marry a nobleman, and live life quietly in the throne.

I was in no frame of mind to face my family, and I didn’t know where else to go. I walked aimlessly, without direction, thinking of all the vile things I’d like to say and do to him, oh when I’ m queen ….

“Isabella?” a familiar male voice called from behind me,

I turned to face it’s owner. I was rather stunned to see who it was.

“Paris? What are you doing here?”

“I needed to run a few errands in town. What are you doing out here?”

“The same  . . . “ I lied, not really wanting to talk about my situation with him.

“Very well, Guess I’ll leave you to be then.”

“Sure. I might be staying on at Mirella’s tonight. If you’re heading back to the palace would you mind telling my folks?”

“Actually, I won’t be. I am going to begin my journey back home. I wish you well in your future, Isabella.”

“Thank You, Paris,” and I actually meant it, “Have a safe journey home. Please write to us to inform us of your safe return.”

“I will,” he smiled, “Farewell, Isabella.”

“Farewell,” I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

I stopped by the postal office,

“I’d like to send a message to the palace please,”

“Certainly. Just write it down over here,” The old man behind the counter passed me a blank paper, a quill and a pot of ink.

To Mom & Dad.

I would just like to let you know that I will not be making it home tonight.

I came into town to run some errands, and have decided to stay the night at Mirella’s home.

I didn’t want you worrying.

I should hopefully be home by tomorrow at dusk.

All my Love,

Your Daughter, Isabella.

I still wasn’t ready to speak to anyone just yet, I’d catch up with Mirella later, For now I just wanted to be in my own thoughts for a while. At that moment I approached a park, walking towards the lake in the middle of the park I settled myself under a tree and proceeded to fall into my daydreams.
