Family Dinner

The children had been to daycare for the rest of the week, Ricardo had gone to work, and Cassandra was busy taking care of the house and getting her online classes done. It was Sunday morning, and Cassandra had invited her family for family dinner after church. Therefore, she was busy in the kitchen getting the meal ready, so that when they arrived home after church the meal would be ready. Every Sunday, Cassandra, Alexander, Christopher, and Ricardo would go to church with Cassandra's siblings, and her parents. This Sunday was special because she had invited Ricardo's parents to attend with them. They had never gone to church with them before, and she wanted it to be a special day. When they arrived at church that morning Alexander ran towards Alex. Cassandra hadn't seen Alex at this church before, but today he decided to be there. Ricardo took Cassandra's hand and she looked at him. She could tell he was getting angry by the look in his eyes. She didn't need to wear her glasses anymore because the swelling on her face had went down. However, she still covered up the bruise with makeup. Cassandra was holding Christopher, and all three of them walked over to where Alex and Alexander had been standing. "Hey Alex, what brings you to this church? Cassandra sister Camelia invited me." Cassandra could feel the grip on Ricardo's hand tighten. He was hurting her, but she didn't say anything. "Well we will see you inside. Come on Alexander let's go in and find a seat." Cassandra, Ricardo, and the children walked in and found a seat next to Cassandra's parents. The service went on for about two hours, and then everyone was dismissed. It was time for Cassandra to get home, and warm the food so when everyone arrived. Cassandra was thinking about Ricardo, and the fact that he could not get along with Alex. As people started to arrive she noticed that Alex was there. He had come with Cassandra's parents. She wanted a good family dinner, but after seeing Alex enter her house she knew that this wasn't going to go well. She had put a table outside for the children to eat out back, and the grownups sat inside to eat. After they ate the guys all converge in the living room to watch the football games. The children decided to bring their swim suits to get in the pool. She knew they would want to do that, so she had Ricardo make sure it was cleaned and sanitized the night before. The woman was in the backyard watching the kids swimming when they heard yelling and screaming coming from the inside. Cassandra's mother told her not to worry as the guys were probably screaming at the television for the game. Then all the sudden she heard something shatter. All the woman jumped up, and told the children to stay out here. They all went running inside. When they got inside they saw Ricardo and Alex going at it. They were fighting like school children, and she knew she had to stop this. She ran towards Ricardo to stop him, and he punched her. Everybody had a puzzled looked on their faces. They couldn't believe what they just saw. Cassandra's dad and brothers jumped on Ricardo to get him to calm down. What was happening? Cassandra thought. This was supposed to be a peaceful Sunday afternoon with family, and now this. She was shocked at what just happened she ran to her room and cried. All she could think was that her whole family now has witnessed Ricardo's temper, and his parents as well. She didn't want to go back down stairs, so she just stood in there crying. She sat their crying for a little while, and then her mother came in and sat down on the bed next to her. She didn't know what to say to her, but she knew that her mother would have many questions, and there was no way of getting out of this one.

Everyone was still down stairs trying to get Alex and Ricardo to talk. Ricardo wasn't haven't it, and he wanted Alex out of his house. Alex then went out back, gave Alexander a hug goodbye, and left. Everybody wanted to find out what just happened, but still Ricardo refused to talk to anyone, so his dad decided to take him out for a walk. So, Cassandra's sisters watched all the children in the back and her brothers and father went back to watching the game. However, they couldn't enjoy because they continued to talk about how Ricardo just hit their sister in the face. Her brothers and father were so angry, but they didn't want to let that get the best of them. They needed to find out what was going on, and why Ricardo blow up to Alex like that. They also wanted to find out if he had hit her before.
