Bianca's P.O.V.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?"
I swallowed my bite of sandwich, making sure to suck all the remaining bits out of my braces. Looking up, I saw a blonde girl with green eyes that glared down at me.
I haven't met this girl yet, so I smiled, thinking she had the wrong person.
"Hi, I'm Bianca," I smiled.
"Damn right you are," she spat. I gulped.
"And you are...." I trailed off, getting nervous.
"Rowan Sternhouse," she snorted, like it was obvious. Flicking her hair, she bragged, "My dad is the chief police officer of Chaplin Falls."
"Cool," I said, biting into my sandwich. Rowan smiled.
"Thanks." Then she stopped and scoffed at me. "Who the hell do you think you are?"
"Um, excuse me?" I asked slowly.
"Are you deaf?" she screeched. My mouth opened in shock. Ashton stood up.
"Knock it off Rowan. She's new."
"Ooh, look at me," Rowan fake sniffled. "I'm Ashton, and I think I'm cool because I'm helping my friend from the mean old bully." She shook off her imitation. "Sit the hell down you slut."
That set it off for me.
"I don't know who you think you are. And trust me, I don't give a damn that you're the police chief's daughter. But if you give my friends shit, we're gonna have a problem. Okay?" I glared.
Rowan seemed taken aback but she quickly regained her composure. I stood up, right as she replied with,
"Listen, you seem nice. Maybe if I overlook one tiny thing, we could be friends."
"What tiny thing?" I asked.
"You kissed my man," she stated.
"What?" I exclaimed.
"Hayden Hepart is mine," Rowan emphasized. "And rumor has it, you two kissed."
"First of all," I breathed out, massaging my forehead. I dimly remembered my whole table was watching me. "Hayden is not yours. He doesn't belong to anyone.
"Second. Hayden just kissed my forehead, but it wasn't on the lips. It technically wasn't even a real kiss. He only did it because I was in hysterics and needed someone to calm me down. So you see? There's no reason you should hate on me," I finished.
Rowan pursed her lips and crossed her arms over her full chest.
Without realizing it, I had turned on my phone to check the time.
11:16.
I nearly passed out.
At exactly 11:16 every day, Hayden walked past my lunch table to go to the bathroom.
I said a silent prayer, begging God to make Hayden's bladder empty today.
No luck.
All of a sudden, I saw Hayden getting up from his table and walking in my direction. Rowan noticed my nervousness at this and smirking, she retorted just as Hayden was walking past me,
"You have a crush on him. And that makes you a threat to me. So yeah sweetie. There is a reason to hate you."
The whole thing seemed to go in slow motion.
