Bianca's P.O.V.

After science, Sam and I walked to band together. He played the trumpet.

"Making friends with Sam, huh Bee?" Kaitlyn asked playfully.

Kaitlyn and I were friends again. Both of us has decided that Kacey was a little too much for our comfort and we stopped hanging out with her.

"Nobody calls me Bee," I said suddenly. More softly now. "Sorry, it's just, that's a name that Hayden only calls me."

"Sorry," shrugged Kaitlyn. But then she winked. "Don't worry, I get it."

I smiled. Kaitlyn decided to let the whole Hayden thing go and she was fine with my crush.

Suddenly, Mr. Salem cleared his throat and tapped his baton on his stand.

"Alright everyone, today we are going to an activity." There were confused murmurs. What kind of activity? We had never done that sort of thing in band before.

"I want you to choose someone who plays the opposite clef as you. If you already known both staffs, come to the front of the room."

I bit my lip as Kaitlyn got up and went to the front of the room. Her and several others stood next to Mr. Salem rather uncomfortably.

"This group of kids will be practicing their knowledge on both clefs," Mr. Salem stated. Kaitlyn looked at me and rolled her eyes. "With flash cards!" he exclaimed, producing a box of cards out of his pocket.

All of the kids at the front of the room groaned.

"Now, as for everybody else, go choose your partner and get as much knowledge into your brain as possible!" Mr. Salem continued.

Gulping, I looked around the room.

Mara! I walked over to her but I was cut off by Lacy.

"Sorry Bianca," Mara said. "Lacy and I are already partners. You can go ask Mr. Salem if you can join us."

"Okay," I smiled gratefully. But a tap on the shoulder stopped me. I turned around and there stood a blushing Sam.

"Hi, um-well, I.... I was wondering if you wanted to be my partner?" He smiled hopefully, red color his cheeks.,

Awwww he looks like a little puppy! I internally squealed. How could anyone deny this adorable little face?

"Of course!" I exclaimed. Sam broke out in a huge smile, his dimples popping on his cheeks.

Oh my god, he's just too cute! I thought passionately as he scrambled to take out his sheet music.

"Okay," Sam said finally, sitting down in a chair. I quickly glanced over to where Hayden was. He was laughing with his friends, and a thought rushed in my head.

"Wait," I said, sitting down and facing Sam. "Why aren't you with Hayden and your other friends?"

"Because I promised you that we would finish our conversation we had on our way to science!" Sam snorted, as if it was obvious. But even as he said it, his face flamed up, and I knew there was more to why he eagerly wanted to be my partner.

But I didn't press the matter.

"Alright," I nodded. "I'll go first."

The band class passed quickly and Sam and I learned our opposite clefs in a little less than 20 minutes.

"Well," Sam said abruptly. My heart sank. He was going to join his friends, which was too bad because I was enjoying his company.

"Since we have 25 more minutes, do you want to go somewhere with me?" Sam smiled devilishly.
