Bianca's P.O.V.
It was 3 in the morning on a Saturday when CJ called me.
"CJ, what-" I started groggily as I answered the phone.
"Shhh, and let me explain. We're having a party Saturday night and you're invited."
"Couldn't this wait until the morning?" I asked hopelessly, knowing that I wouldn't be able to go back to sleep. "And who's 'we?'"
"Nope," CJ laughed. I assumed that answered both my questions. "Meet me in Chaplin Falls Park at 6, okay? Bring drinks."
"Okay," I sighed, giving in.
"Bye Bianca." I heard a snap of gum.
"Bye CJ." I hung up the phone, totally wide awake now. Great. I rolled over onto my belly and opened up my writing app.
There, I wrote a story about a girl who had it all; no struggles, no worries. The absurdity of a perfect girl in a perfect world eventually made me crash. But that wasn't until 4:30 am.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I agreed to come to this party.
First of all, I didn't know who was going to be attending. CJ was going, but that's all I knew.
Second, this was a middle school party.
Thirdly, the odds of something dramatic happening were great.
But nevertheless, I was kind of excited. I was counting down the hours until 6.
My parents dropped me off at the park at 5:59, and already, I saw my fellow classmates starting to trickle in.
"BEE!!" CJ exclaimed as she saw me. I decided to let the name slide. "Glad you could make it."
"Glad to be here," I replied and then automatically winced for being so corny and cheesy.
But CJ only laughed.
"Wow Bee, you're such a nerd," she teased. Then her voice turned into a whisper. "Alright, here's the plan. At 6:30, we're ditching this park and heading to somebody's house. Their parents are on vacation and their older sister is out for the night."
"Who's house?" I asked.
"Drake's," CJ responded.
I brightened. Drake sat next to me in homeroom. Although he wasn't in any of my classes, we were really good friends and always talked about our favorite Youtubers, danisnotonfire and AmazingPhil.
"Cool," I smiled. "Who's going over Drake's?"
"Everybody," CJ grinned. "Meeting at the park was just a set up so we wouldn't get busted by our parents."
I nodded. Smart.
6:30 approached and practically the whole middle school was at Chaplin Falls Park. We all quietly marched to Drake's house, the two 2 liter Pepsis in my hand slipping. Just as I was about to drop the bottle of fizzy drink, somebody swooped in and saved it from the hard ground.
I smiled up at my rescuer. Sam Meyers.
"Hey stranger," he winked.
"Hi," I said bashfully, fire rushing to my cheeks.
"So Bee," Sam trailed off. I smiled. The nickname sounded so adorable and cute on his lips.
"Yes?" I inquired.
