Finally, after a full day and into the beginning of the next night, Allison, Stiles and Scott were gasping for breath, alive, pushing themselves out of the waters, and Lydia and Deaton stood while Isaac came back to the room. I was still standing at the foot of Stiles' tub, feeling like I was gonna pass out because I hadn't sat down in forever, since they had gone into the water. The only reason I was still standing because Lydia and Isaac had literally stood next to me to make sure I didn't fall.

"I saw it," Scott said as he climbed out of the tub. "I know where it is."

"There was this passage," Stiles said, clmbing out. "A huge tree. Well, it's not huge anymore, it was cut down. It was still big, though. Very big."

"It was the night we were looking for the body," Scott said, pointing at me and Stiles.

"The same night you were bit by Peter," Stiles agreed.

"I was there too," Allison said. "I was in the car with my mother. We almost hit somebody."

"That was me," Scott said. "You almost hit me." He looked at us. "We can find it."

I looked down, none of us answering.

"What?" Allison asked.

"You guys were out a long time," I said, finally looking up.

"How long's a long time?" Scott asked.

"16 hours," Deaton answered.

Shock poured over all of them, Allison's mouth hanging open as Scott asked, "We were in the water for 16 hours?"

"And the full moon rises in less than four."

Seeing Allison, Stiles and Scott's upset and drenched and shocked glances toward Deaton, Lydia, Isaac and me was more than painful--and not just because I hadn't sat down in 16 hours, sinking down to the floor, leaning against Stiles' tub while he sat down on the brim of it next to me.

Now, Allison and Isaac were sitting on a table with a towel over her shoulders. Scott was pacing, Lydia standing near Deaton.

But Scott was being a dumbass.

"No, dude, you're not going back with them," Stiles told him as he sat down on the brim of his tub next to me.

"I made a deal with Deucalion," Scott answered.

I raised my hands in the air, still sitting on the floor. "Does anyone else think that sounds like a deal with the devil?" I looked from Lydia and Deaton to Stiles to Allison and Isaac.

"Why does it matter anyway?" Isaac asked.

"Because I still don't think we can beat Jennifer without their help," Scott answered.

Just the sound of her name made my teeth grind. Killing Heather was one thing--taking Stiles' and my dad when we'd already lost our mom? And Isaac saying I looked sorta like her in the hospital just pissed me off.

Allison's voice brought me back, and she was looking at Deaton. "He trusts you more than anyone. Tell him he's wrong."

"I'm not sure he is," Deaton said, and we looked at him in surprise. "Circumstances like this sometimes require you that you align yourself with people you'd normally consider enemies."

This didn't make much sense, and Isaac apparently didn't think so either because he asked, "So we're gonna trust him? The guy that calls himself Death, Destroyer or World? I wouldn't trust that guy."

"I wouldn't trust him," Deaton replied. "No. But you can use him to your advantage. Deucalion may be the enemy, but he could also be the bait."

Stiles looked down at me. "Aren't you gonna get up anytime soon?"
