Don't you be proud

Don't you be proud of your external beauty,
It shall fade away with time.
It's only the beauty of your heart that lasts,
once you've passed your prime.
What's the use of your lovely face
if deep within you have no compassion.
You just think of yourself.
For you, being good is being not in fashion.

Don't you be proud of your wealth,
It shall diminish with time.
Haven't you read Balzac's words-
Behind every fortune lies a crime.
What's the use of all your riches
if deep within you have no sympathy.
You just think of yourself.
When it comes to helping others, you show apathy.
