I sat alone in the troop bay looking out the open rear door at all the burning skycrapers. After a little while of just staring I stood up and holstered my DMR. The Pelican slowed down above a rooftop where two Falcons were parked. I stepped out and Carter stepped out of the other and walked over to me while the Pelican flew off.
"Your report will have to wait, Lieutenant. The Covenant are jamming all comms to Command. Kat needs your help running a counter-op." He said
We walked to the falcons while one took off.
"Its good to have you back." He said placing his hand on my shoulder.
"Sorry I came alone." I said
"Make him proud." He said
He turned away and walked slowly as I stopped in front o the falcon. A few minutes later I heard Kat through the com.
"Get your wings back on, Lieutenant. You're flying this Falcon." She said
I got in the Falcon and familiarized myself with the controls and I lifted off. A burning building skyscraper nearby collapsed.
"Covenant have deployed comm jammers in high-rises across the city. We cant hear Holland and he cant hear us. When I find them, you hit them- hard." She said "Dont fall in love with my voice. The closer you are to the hammer, the worse comms are going to get."
I was given three jammer locations once I was done with that I headed to the New Alexandria Hospital.
"Stand by, Six... One of our Trooper squads went silent after the hospital got hit. I'll mark the location. Complete their mission and take out that jammer." She said
"On it." I said
I flew to the hospital and set down on an open landing and went inside. There was a small squad of Grunts and Brutes engaged, they were supported by a Huragok. After I fought through them I reached the hospitals concourse.
"Contacts, two at ten o'clock! I'll hold them off until you get to the other side!" One trooper said over the com
"Cover that doorway! Move, move, move!" The other trooper said
I attacked the Brutes cornering the troopers.
"More Brutes! Stay back, you stinkin' bastards!" The first trooper said
As I pushed through, more and more Brutes fell.
"I said BACK OFF, you nasty son of a bitch!" The trooper said
"Go ahead and try it!" The other said
I finally reached the troopers after killing all the brutes.
"Thanks for the assist, Spartan. Jammer's right over here." The trooper said
I overloaded the jammer and headed back to the stairs.
"Kat. Kat, do you read?" I asked
"Noble Two to Noble Six. I'm showing the hospital jammer offline- nice work. Soon as you can, I need you back in your Falcon." I heard her say after getting static
"On it." I said
As I was headed back to my Falcon a group of Elite Rangers flew in and engaged me and the troopers.
"Noble Two to Noble Six: you've got incoming tangos!" Kat said
"We got jumpers!" One trooper said
"Damn! Look how they move!" The other trooper said
We defeated the Elites. We moved back up the stairs egaging an Ultra Elite and some Skirmishers.
"We're good here, ma'am. You can head back to your bird." The first trooper said
