You woke up on soft grass...the warm sun poking beams against your skin, warming you as you lay on the forest floor...

When you realized that you're not in your room where you had gone to bed, you sit up quickly, head throbbing...and the tips of your ears stinging...

You felt them with your fingers and hissed as how tender they were, but recoiled your hand at the feeling of their shape...pointed...

"Da'len?" a voice called out as you sat up. Your clothes had changed as well as your ears.

You looked to see a young man, an Elf, sitting under a nearby tree, with a smile on his face, "I'm glad to see that you're alright. I almost feared someone had cursed you," he spoke so warmly...his voice and face so familiar...

"Solas...?"

***

He cared for you all those ages ago...Guided you into that new world of Elvhen magic and beauty, only for it to fall apart ten years later...

Two thousand years after that, you awoke to find that the sky was torn and that Solas believed you to be dead...

You made your way to Sky Hold, rushing to keep him from making the wrong choice...

Solas sat in the tavern, speaking with Dorian about ancient Elvhen fashion, versus modern Tevene attire...

"Most things that Tevinter claims as their own was stolen from Elvhen culture. This argument is futile," Solas sighed in exhaustion.

"Even if that is true, we wear it better," Dorian smirked, then looked passed the Apostate as the tavern door opened and a rain soaked girl came rushing in from the cold.

That girl was you, your eyes immediately fixing upon the back of Solas's head as you saw him, "Vhenan...?" your voice cracked as you said this and Solas froze on the spot...

He didn't just hear you...it couldn't be...

"Solas?" you cast off your hood as you took a couple of steps in his direction. He looked at you, not believing his own eyes for a second, not after everything.

"It cannot be..." he breathed, standing up, "You are a demon, not Y/n... You're nothing more than a cruel vision of desire..." Solas's eyes began to burn in seconds and you frowned at him.

"Solas, it's me... I'm here. We're both here. It's over... Let it be over," you pleaded quietly as you reached him, extending a hand out to touch him, but he stepped back from you.

Solas blinked at you, "How do you know-" you cut him off.

"That same way I know you hate tea. The same reason I know you got that scar on your forehead protecting me..." you whispered sadly, "It is me, Vhenan. We're home now. Let us have the simple life we dreamed of," you pleaded again, reaching him and taking his hands in yours, but he pulled away, turning from you as his tears fell.

Your heart was breaking, but you had to try...

You looked at the floor, "I know you..." you whispered softly, "I walked with you once upon a dream," you smiled wryly as he paused, "And I know it's true that visions are seldom all they seem...But if I know you, I know what you'll do..." you took his hand again, "...You'll love me at once, the way you did..." you waited for him.

"The way you did..." you repeated, earning the faintest of broken smiles from him as he looked up from the floor.

"The way you did once upon a dream," Solas turned back to you, grinning as his tears continued, his lips meeting yours in a nearly needy kiss, which soon grew into a desperate and heated passion...

***

You sigh in content as you lay on his chest, the both of you only covered by a blanket as you had slipped away for a private moment in a guest room...

Solas drew gentle circles over the bared skin of your lower back, "Do you remember when I asked you to marry me...? All those years ago...?" he inquired and you bit your lip lightly as you chuckled at the memory.

"Before or after you took me away to Sky Hold? We swived for a fort night, as I recall..." you giggled at the fond memories and Solas laughed.

"Just before...and how could I forget...?" he hummed, staring up at the ceiling, "We never had our wedding," Solas stated, "We were engaged for two years until things went to hell...and we never had a real ceremony," his disappointment showed through.

"What would we do if we were married, Solas? Disappear after the world is saved? Live in a cozy little cabin...? Just you, me..." you raised your head from his chest, kissing his lips softly.

"...And a horde of children to drive us mad," he chuckled and you noticed that his tone was a bit strange.

"You're serious?" you had always wanted children...

Solas nodded, "Of course," he kissed you again, "So long as you are with me now, I do not need the old world back, because you are all that mattered then...and now," Solas grinned and your heart pounded in your chest.

"How many children would we have...?" you questioned with a raised brow and a cheeky little smile.

Solas smirked, "Hmm..." he narrowed his eyes, "...Four? Perhaps, even five?" Solas proposed.

You just laughed and kissed his lips for a longer moment this time. You both had hope that this new life, in this young world, would be a very good one...
