Kindness

Place me in the clearest landscape
I'm the one chasing this thick fog
Hands held upon my face
It strikes me as odd that I feel compressed in this space

Inside this hollow shell
cross-legged
a child sits
wearing her big girl face
she pushes out the darkness and struggles to ignite what's left of the light

Do not feel a single twinge of guilt
You've cared for the soul you built

No this isn't your sin
you let the kindness in.
