Author's Note
I know a lot of people want a DamiRae story. I'm finally doing it. Keep reading, and I hope you enjoy! After what felt like hours of working things out, Damian was finally ready to leave.
Not ready by choice, but ready by force. He knew it had to be done. He, unlike the others, knew what was coming.
He was sitting in his room. That's when he heard a knock.
"What?" he demanded.
He regretted it as soon as he heard Raven's voice.
"It's me," she said, her voice strangely calm, given the circumstances.
Damian let her in. That both sat on the bed as Damian continued packing.
"I'm coming with you," Raven said.
At that, she could tell Damian was surprised. He stopped packing for a couple of seconds. Then he continued.
"No."
"Why not?" Raven asked? "You helped me when Trigon came. Why can't I help you?"
"This is different," he responded. "And anyways, you already have helped, if that's what your trying to do. More than I have, anyways."
Raven didn't seem to know how to respond to this. "Well," she said. "I guess that's right."
She remembered what happened just a few days ago.
Wayne Manor. The assassins. What happened to Batman. Damian literally dying for a while.
It was all too much for her to handle.
Especially the last part.
She kept telling herself that he's just a friend. But then she was unsure of that.
She felt herself blushing and quickly stopped thinking of that.
She got up and told Damian, "I think I'll go to my room now. Just... think about what I said, okay?"
She left the room.
Damian was confused.Soon later, Damian was ready to leave.
Thankfully, he had one more day before having to leave.
He thought of what he would do when he got there.
He would try to reason with the League to let him be their leader. He would tell them that he was forced to do the things he did and that he was ready to take, with both mother and grandfather dead, his rightful place as the leader of the League of Assassins.
If it worked, than he would work to get the League to help him out with that girl they saw.
Most likely, they would attack him as soon as he stepped foot into the monastery. If that happened, he would just have to—
"Hey, Damian?"
Garfield interrupted his thoughts.
"What?" Damian demanded.
Garfield winced. "Your father's here," he said. "He says you'll need to leave a day early."
Damian hated this.
He didn't have time to finish packing, get into his old suit, or even think of allowing Raven to come.
Actually he had already figured that out.
He couldn't let her. He wanted to, but there was no way his dad would let him. He doesn't like Raven.
"I'll be there in a few minutes."
As soon as Garfield left, Damian let his anger out.
He picked up his sword and threw it at the wall.
His anger was gone instantly when he realized that he threw it at Raven's room, directly where her bed was; he could've killed her.
As expected, a few seconds later, he heard a knock on the door.
He walked over to the door and opened it, seeing Raven.
"Hey," he told her. "Sorry about—"
"It's fine," she interrupted. "You were just mad and wanted to let your anger out. By the way, why were you so upset?"
Damian stepped to the side of the door and held his arm out to welcome her inside.
When she sat down on the bed, Damian shut the door.
"It's my father," he told her. "He wants me to leave early... today. And, Raven, I really would appreciate to have you along, it's just... there's no way he would let you. I don't think he really likes you.
"I really don't even want to leave now."
He leaned his head down. He felt Raven put her hand on his shoulder. He looked up at her and smiled. She blushed, but smiled back.
Raven leaned closer and Damian a quick kiss on the cheek; Damian blushed.
"I guess I'll see you later," she said and got up to leave the room.
When she finally closed the door behind her, Damian kept staring at the door, not even realizing. After waiting what felt like forever, Damian was leaving.
Having said goodbye to the Titans and set out with his father, Robin was now just Damian Wayne, the 12 year old assassin gone good.
But, he knew it had to be done.
As much as he hated to, he left Titan's Tower and headed for the League of Assassins.
