Assassin Once More

Going from Robin back to an assassin was weird.
Used to, he would follow what he was taught, destroy his enemies. The he was told not to kill. Now he's supposed to kill again?
Well, Damian thought. If it'll get them to trust me again.
He had flashbacks thinking about this.
His fight with Slade in the oil rig nearly got Slade killed. As far as Damian had known, he did die.
Somehow, though, he had escaped death.
Damian thought of that time with Doll Maker. He nearly killed him.
He even thought of his mother's death, though he never had a chance to kill there.
Somehow, even she was back.
Then Damian realized that they never actually saw her die. They just saw he ship go into the water.
He knew he needed to tell his father this, but how? Honestly, he wasn't too worried about it. When you're a 12 year old and your dad's Batman, you kind of figure that he would figure it out before you.
Anyways, he needed to focus on getting his primary mission accomplished.
And he had no idea how to do it.

     Visions flashed through her mind.
     Terrible visions.
Death. Destruction. Failure. Reminders of the past.
Reminders of a past she would rather stay away from.
She saw Wayne Manor burning down. She saw the collapse of Titan's Tower, still today not completely redone.
All Raven remembered before blacking out was pain, a pain like she had never felt before, and heard someone scream.

Damian paced back and forth in his room, trying his best to think.
     He had absolutely no ideas.
He then thought of something: what he couldn't believe earlier on the ship.
     His father expected him to—
     He heard a knock.
     "What?" he demanded.
One of the assassins opened the door, saying, "Master Damian, someone has come to see you."
Damian seemed confused. "Who is it?"
"Some girl. Says her name is Raven."
     Damian's eyes widened.
     "Let her in."
The man nodded and left the room.
     Soon Raven walked in.
She opened her mouth to say something, but never got the chance to.
Damian bolted awake in his bed, wondering what that dream was for.
He knew Raven wouldn't come hear. Why would he Raven dream of that!
After what felt like hours, Damian was finally able to go back  to sleep.
The next morning, Damian did what was expected of him as leader.
He watched the morning training, midday training, and afternoon training. Though, the whole time, he continued to think of his last time here.
That day, he, his grandfather, and mother had been watching the training when they were attacked and Ra's was killed.
     He still had nightmares.
While preparing for bed that night something hit him.
He was ready to disband the League of Assassins.

When Raven woke up, she was in a hospital.
At least it looked it. She was just waking up.
Then she remembered the pain, and the scream. After a while, she realized that the scream was hers.
     And the visions.
     Those awful visions.
And Damian.
She knew he would go back to killing if he stayed with this assassins. She didn't want that for him.
She, and everyone else, knew that he was meant for more than that. He was more than just some assassin.
She worried for him, and she knew everyone else did, too.
She just hoped everything was fine.

He stood in front of him, sword raised.
Many stood around him, watching.
His sword was positioned directly above the man's neck, who was crouching down, ready for the strike.
Damian was being tested, that he knew.
He also knew that the others didn't completely trust him. That's why he was being tested. To see if he still had it in him to kill.
After a while, he raised his sword.
He then hesitated.
He thought of the Titans, of Raven, of his family, of his father—
His father. It was him wanting this to happen, Batman wanting it done any way necessary.
Even if it meant death.
Damian brought his blade down in a flash, chopping the man's head clean off.
He then pushed through the crowd of assassins and left the room, towards his room.
Then, after what felt like hours, Damian fell asleep, thinking about the hard truth.
Damian Wayne, Robin, was assassin once more.
