When Damian left, he, like usual, was in a bad mood.
Especially with—
Stop it, he told himself. Focus on what's coming up.
But he had trouble with that.
After what Raven did, he couldn't focus on anything. Except—
"Damian," Bruce interrupted. "You know what you're doing when you get there, right?"
Damian nodded. "Yes. I am to try to convince the League that you forced this on me and get them to let me lead them.
"Once that happens, I will use the League to finally get rid of Slade, then disband them.
"At least, I'm supposed to make them think that that's what I want. Really, of course you know this, I'm just trying to get rid of them.
"And if they won't help, I'm supposed to go into hiding in the mountains."
Bruce looked at his son.
"Damian," he said. "You're upset about something. What is it?"
Damian quickly looked out the window to hide his blush. Bruce focused back on the road.
"It's nothing."
"Damian!"
"I don't want to talk about it!"
Bruce didn't respond. It was quiet for the whole trip, around 1 hour, until the boat ride.
Damian finally decided to tell, not about the kiss, but about Raven wanting to come.
"You know I wouldn't have let her come," Bruce told his son.
Damian grew angry. "Who are you to say who can and can't come with me? This is my trip, not yours! Why don't have to even do this? I'm sure that all of us can handle a girl with rock powers!
"I mean, we did sort of save the world from a god-like demon, or did you forget?! Or do you just think it was all you, like always?!
"Oh wait, you were out the whole time! You did nothing to help!"
Bruce stared at Damian.
"You know why."It was strange.
It would take forever to get used to not having Damian around. Especially for Raven, though she was good at hiding her feelings.
If anyone got close to figuring it out, she was able to dodge it.
Until Kori became suspicious.
Sadly for Raven, she was unable to hide it.
"Just..." Raven started to tell her. "Don't tell anyone, okay?"
Kori had nodded and said, "Don't worry Raven," but Raven was worried for him.
Going to the League of Assassins was dangerous, even for him. Then again, she had to keep reminding herself that he took on the two deadliest assassins alive. Surely he can handle thousands of much, much weaker ones.
Damian had been gone for almost a week now, and they didn't like it.
This silence, to them, was unsettling. It was just so unlike the place now to be so quiet.
They all hoped that Robin, Damian, would soon return. On the ship, Damian was hating his life. He wanted to go back to the Titans, to Raven.
But his father wouldn't let him. He knew that. And if he ran away, he would definitely be stopped from being a Titan or even being Robin.
So instead, he just decided to listen to his dad.
Eventually, he kept telling himself, it'll all be over. Then, I can finally go home.
That was the only bit of hope he had left.
When they reached the League, Damian thought it was strange.
He'd been gone from this place for two years, and now he's just supposed to hope that they'll accept him.
After Bruce wished Damian luck on this, he left, and Damian was glad.
Not because he doesn't like his father, he does. But because he brought something a little extra along in his bag.
He would never stop being Robin.Bruce worried about his son. Sometimes, he wondered if he worried to much.
He knew how reckless Damian could be, especially back when he first became Robin.
He completely terrified Dr. Langstrom, that was for sure. Tried to beat him up, too.
All for answers that he didn't have.
If he tried to do that again, and Batman wasn't there to stop him, then what would happen?
Stop it, Bruce kept telling himself. He'll be just fine.
At least he told himself that. He wasn't so sure he believed it, though. After hours of hiking in freezing weather, Damian had finally made or to the League of Assassins.
As he walked towards the entrance, all of the assassins raised their swords.
"Wait!" hollered Damian. "I don't want a fight. You know what has been promised to me. All of the crime-fighting and all of that, it was forced on me!
"But now, I have come to take my rightful place as the leader of the League of Assassins!"
They all cheered. Wow, Damian thought. This might actually work.
He started instantly coming up with an idea to get the League to disband.
He still couldn't believe what he was forced to do. It was just unbelievable.Hey, sorry about he huge cliffhanger. Really, just to hopefully make things better, it's not really that big. Just wait. Thanks for reading!
