I sat impatiently in the common room, waiting for my best friend to step through the portrait hole. I was worried about him. James told me this time the full moon was not as forgiving. He needed a hug, and I had one waiting for him.

Remus stumbles through the portrait hole, clinging onto my brother's arm. I stood up quickly and rushed over to Remus, embracing him with all I had. He wrapped his arms around my waist, placing his head on my shoulder.

My brother, still standing there, wolf whistled at us. "Whoa, guys, quit it with the PDA," he said, chuckling.

I shoot him a glare. "Sirius. So us all a favor and shut up. And he's hurt. Someone has to take care of him while he's not feeling well." I begin to lead him up the stairs to his dormitory.

I guided him to his bed, setting him down carefully. He groaned in pain, making me remember something. "Remus, I'll be right back. I'm going to get something for you, okay?"

He just nods and I go out to the common room, my brother still there. "Hey Sirius?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you happen to have any chocolate on hand at the moment?" I ask sweetly, knowing he does.

"Ughh.... yeah...  I think so. Here," he says, giving me a huge bar of Remus' favorite chocolate.

"Thanks," I say, rushing back upstairs.

I rush back over to Remus' bedside and check his pulse. It's a little slower than normal- better give him some of that chocolate now.

He's asleep. I break off a chunk. "Remus," I gently coax. "Remus."
I get closer and say in his ear, "Remus."

His eyes flutter open, and he turns to face me. He looks around. "Where am I?"

"In your dormitory," I say, studying him. I feel his forehead with the back of my hand. "Merlin, Remus, you're burning up. Here." I hand over the piece of chocolate. He takes it eagerly, like a child. I can't help but let the corners of my mouth twitch up a bit.

"What?" He asks with his mouth full, staring at me.

My smile grows larger. I play with his hair. "Nothing."

He has a skeptical expression on his face as I twirl a little strand of it around my finger. "How are you feeling?"

"Better," he says, taking a strand of my hair and messing with it.

"Good," I say, standing up straight. "I guess I'll see you later, then. Call me if you need anything."

I start walking towards the door when Remus grabs my wrist. I turn and stare at him, confused.

"Can you stay?" He asks, his big, childlike eyes pleading.

I can't help but grin. "Yes."

I climb into Remus' bed, making him scoot over so we can both fit. We sit upright, our heads against the headboard, enjoying each other's company.

Randomly, Remus wraps me in a tight hug, burying his face in my hair. "Y/n?" He asks, his tone reminding me of when I first met him on the train and we were both tiny eleven year olds.

"Yes, Remus?"

"I was wondering.... if you ever thought of me as anything more than a friend, or best friend." His hand mindlessly strokes my hair as if I were a precious gemstone and needed to be protected.

"To tell you the truth, I've always loved you, Remus. Maybe not since when we first met, but I've always felt something for you. I remember your jealousy when I started dating all those guys, I remember you swearing to murder them if they ever touched me again. I thought that was just looking out for me as a friend, but then I realized.... it was love."

"Does that mean you love me too?" He asks, moving his face to the crook of my neck.

"Yes, it does, Remus." I chuckle.

He kisses my neck lightly, the kisses traveling to behind my ear. I pull him flush against me, not wanting there to be any space between us. He moves the kisses back down, stopping at my lower collarbone. I grab his face in my hands and gently brush my lips against his. He kisses me slowly, but passionately, tracing my spine and sides with one of his fingers.

I brought my face away from his and gently traced the scar on his cheek, then kissed it gently.

He turns away. "My scars- I'm so pathetic-"

I cut him off with a quick kiss on his lips. I hold his face in my hands. "No, Remus. Don't bring yourself down. These scars show that you're weak. They show that you're brave, you're strong. They're made of raw perfection, something that's hard to come by. Merlin, I love you, but could you please not bring yourself down like this?" I kissed the scar again.

"Alright, Y/n. For you, I will," he says, kissing my forehead gently.

"Good to hear," I say, smiling a little. "Now, where were we?"

He smirks and cups my face in his hands, bringing his lips back to mine, his hands traveling down to my hips and mine tracing patterns on the back of his neck.

And I would have enjoyed the moment more if not for Sirius walking in, leaning in the door frame and remarking, "Well, Moony sure looks like he's feeling better." He smirked.

"Piss off, Padfoot!", Remus and I yell at the same time. We turn to each other and smile, and Remus kisses my cheek, making me giggle a bit, both of us forgetting that my brother was still there.

Sirius clears his throat.

Remus shoots a glare at Sirius. "You're still here?", He asks, annoyed.

"Well, I guess I'll leave you two lovebirds to sucking each other's faces off," he says, walking out and shutting the door behind him.

Remus wastes no time in claiming my lips again, pressing his lips to mine, running his tongue across my teeth. He pins me down on his bed, his lips never breaking contact with mine. He kisses my neck again, his lips hovering over my ear as he whispers, "I love you, Y/n."

"I love you too," I whisper back, out of breath.

We fell asleep after having an all-out competition on who loved the other more, explaining why every time. We ended up in a tie, but he kept insisting no matter how much I loved him, he would always love me more.
