Chapter 5 Goal

One afternoon during the intra school ranking, “No, I don’t have any idea”

“But it was given to me by the American correspondent, how come they made a mistake?”

Suddenly he remembered something that his father told him “There’s a love letter from a beautiful lady for you!” “Crap, I need to talk to that old man!”(It was in his mind)

“What’s the problem Echizen?” it was Tezuka who just came out from nowhere

“Buchou?” he was surprised

“It was an official representative list for the US Open in America, Ryoma was on the list, maybe it’s some mistake because he does not even knew it” said by Inoue the Monthly Pro Tennis reporter and hands him a paper where the list is on

“Buchou, I have to go I need to…” Ryoma wasn’t able to finish his sentence, with same straight face Tezuka opened his lips and said “You have a match this afternoon; we’ll deal with it later” he paused and turned to Inoue, “Sorry but we have to proceed to our activity, please do me a favor”

“Oh, what is it?” he asked

“Please let us all keep this a secret, the US Open about Echizen; I hope that no one will know this.”

“Oh, okay…”

“If you’ll excuse us” then the two walked back to the court

Yuuki was passing by when she saw Ryoma who looks so confused

“Ryoma, what’s your problem?” she frowns

“Nee-san? Nothing, I’m just thinking”

“I see, you have a match today?”

“Yeah, Uhm… Nee-san is it true that you joined the female tennis club?”

“Yup… I’m done with my match today, but still have two matches for the next day”

“It’s good to hear that you’re playing again, you looked happier” his lips twist with a smile

“Ah, really? I’m just the same”

“No you look good, I don’t know if its tennis or it is something or someone else” he teased but there is a sad tone with the last two words

“What someone else? Stop teasing me!” she stopped when her eye caught a familiar person

“Echizen, why you’re not in the court yet?” he paused and look at the person next to Ryoma

“I’m on my way buchou we just talked; she’s a new member of the female tennis club”

“Buchou? He’s the captain?” She asked exasperated

“Uhm… yeah”

“Good luck to your next match Yuuki, I’ve heard you played good. Echizen let’s go.” Then turn his back and walk to the court

“See you later nee-san” and he waved

Days after that scene, news spread that Ryoma is going to fly to America for the upcoming US Open. The whole team sends Ryoma to the airport as well as his classmates. Yuuki intended to stay at home; she and Ryoma were close enough, America is too far from Japan. “He will come back soon”

“Ryoma has found his goal, and it is for his dream to fight in America… how about me?” she asked herself trying to figure out things on her own.

The next morning, it was a good weather everyone were so excited for the upcoming match of Seigaku’s strongest, a match between the prodigy Syusuke Fuji and the Captain Kunimitsu Tezuka. On the other hand it was the semi-final match between the girls club, Yuuki was one to play for the semi-final round to determine the newest captain of the club.

Gossips were around, “I want to know who will be Aoi-senpai’s opponent for the ranking finals, so much as I wanted to watch Tezuka buchou on the other court” said one of the second years.

“It was said that the new challenger has the guts to defeat Megumi-senpai”

“Eh? Really? But I doubt, even Aoi-fukubuchou admitted that she has never defeated Megumi-senpai”

“This is really exciting; it was a big guess who will be the captain of the female club!”

Then the second year students went out of the locker room, not knowing the existence of a person

One set match, Tezuka Kunimitsu vs. Fuji Syusuke

One set match, Yamada Yuuki vs. Megumi Ohta

Who will win the match?

Who is the strongest?

Who will have their goal reached?
