Hello! New chapter? What?
Zoe and Alfie were coming over and they said they have some news. Joe was a bit nervous if he's honest. Zoe doesn't like how busy London is and they rarely come here.
"Joe," Caspar said as Joe paced up and down, "calm down mate. I'm sure everything is fine."
"I know I know. I'm just overreacting as always. 'M just worried."
"It's gonna be okay. Just calm your breathing and come sit down."
Joe nodded and walked over to the couch. He sat down and leaned into Caspar. That's become a very natural thing for Joe to do. Just randomly hug him or cuddle him when he's feeling down. It's comforting.
Joe heard his phone beep and he took it out of his pocket quickly.
"It's from Alfie. Him and Zoe are 5 minutes away." He told Caspar.
"Great. So then they can tell us the news and you can stop stressing."
"Yeah," Joe laughed, "sorry if I'm annoying you. I must be such a burden."
"Joe," Caspar said seriously, "don't ever say anything like that ever again. You could never be a burden."
Joe nodded and smiled at him.
After 5 minutes Joe heard a knock on the door and practically ran to open it.
"Come on in." He greeted them and gave both of them a hug.
"You guys have to tell us the news," Caspar said as he hugged them too, "or else Joe will explode."
"Okay okay let us walk in first." Alfie laughed.
They all walked over to the couch and sat down. Joe was much more relaxed. He knew it couldn't be bad news judging by their attidutes.
"Should I tell them or...?" Zoe asked Alfie.
"Yeah you go ahead." He smiled at her.
"Okay."
Joe looked at them expectedly. He really wanted to know what the news was now.
"We're engaged." Zoe said.
"Oh my god!" Joe shouted and hugged them both.
He started jumping up and down while Caspar hugged them and said something along the lines of 'took you long enough.'
"Guys I'm so happy for you. You have no idea how excited I am. I love weddings. I am invited to the wedding right?" Joe rambled.
"Of course. But Joe calm down. The wedding isn't for another 5 months." Zoe laughed.
"Am I invited too?" Caspar asked.
"Obviously," Alfie said, "you're both so stupid. We wouldn't come all this way to tell you and then not invite you to the wedding. Imagin if we didn't invite you to our wedding."
They talked and laughed for a few hours before Zoe announced that it was time for them to leave.
"You guys can spend the night here if you want. You can have my room." Joe offered.
"Where would you sleep?" Zoe asked.
Joe was about to say that he can just sleep in Caspar's room and that they share a bed most nights recently anyway but he realised that that's a bit weird.
"I can uh..sleep on the couch."
"No it's fine Joe. I don't feel like travelling tomorrow. I'd rather just get home tonight." Zoe said.
"Okay if you're sure." Joe smiled.
Zoe and Alfie left and Caspar gasped suddenly.
"What's wrong?" Joe asked.
"We forgot to ask if we can bring a plus one."
Joe laughed.
"That's what you're worried about? I'm sure there'll be plenty of girls there that you can dance with." Joe said.
"Yeah I guess. But what if I want to bring a date?" He asked.
Joe's heart skipped a beat. A date? Does Caspar have a girlfriend?
"Anyone particular in mind?" Joe asked casually.
"No I just don't want people to know that I haven't had a girlfriend in like 2 years."
Joe breathed a sigh of relief. He shouldn't feel relieved but he did.
And that's when it hit him. The butterflies in his stomach. The way his heart speeds up when Caspar looks at him. The way he smiles when he thinks of the night they kissed. The happiness he feel when Caspar laughs. This isn't just attraction anymore.
I have feeling for Caspar Lee. Fuck.
"Joe are you alright?" Caspat asked as he noticed Joe going slightly pale.
He didn't answer. He just continued to stare at the wall. Clearly lost in thought.
"Joe?" Caspar tried again.
"Uh yeah?" Joe muttered, "oh right, sorry just zoned out."
"Do you want to be my date to the Zalfie wedding?" Caspar asked him.
"What?"
"Do you want to be my date?" Caspar repeated, "like a friend date."
"I don't know. Is that not a bit weird?" He asked.
"No? Why would it be?" Caspar said defensively, "we'll probably spend the whole night together anyway. Might as well just go together."
He have no idea why he was saying these things. He had decided to keep his feelings for Joe hidden. Wait. No. Not feelings, just...attraction. Yeah attraction.
Either way he had decided to keep it a secret until it goes aways. So what the fuck was he doing asking him on a date? A friend date I mean.
He was about to take it back when Joe smiled.
"Sure," he said, "why not?"
Why did I just say that? Why did I agree to go on this 'friend date' with Caspar. I just realised that I have feelings for him.
What the fuck was he supposed to do now? He can't tell Caspar. Obviously. But how is he supposed to ignore the fact that he likes his best mate.
Especially when they're going to Zoe's wedding together. At least that's in 5 months. He won't have to worry about that right now.
"I'm tired," Joe said, "I'm gonna go to bed."
"Same," Caspar said, "your bed or mine?"
"Yours." Joe answered without thinking.
They walked downstairs and Joe took a quick shower before getting into his pyjama bottoms and crawling into Caspar's bed. Caspar automatically slid his arms around Joe's waist and Joe cuddled into him.
"G'night Joe." Caspar muttered.
"Night Cas." Joe said and he wondered when had it become normal for them to sleep in the same bed and for Caspar to hold him like he does.
He wondered if maybe he should leave and sleep in his own bed.
Is it a good idea to share a bed with your best friend who you've just realised you have feelings for? No, not at all.
Did he still do it? Obviously.
Hope y'all liked this chapter! I know not a lot happened in this one but they're just realising their feelings for each other and I felt it's important to write about. Lyl xxx
