As I sat in my room, procrastinating on finishing Macbeth, I listened for the loud roar of my truck. I assumed I would have heard its return even over the loud rain. However, when I looked out of my window it was in the driveway to my surprise.
I was not looking forward to Friday. Of course, there would be the occasional comment about fainting but no one mention Edward's involvement. Luckily Mike kept his mouth shut. Jessica had a lot of questions about me sitting with Edward at lunch still.
"So what did he want?" she leaned forward as she asked.
"I don't know he never really made it to his point," I said trying to be tight-lipped about our conversation.
"You looked kind of angry," she noted.
"Did I?" I tried to sound sincere but really I was just antagonizing her nosey ways. Don't get me wrong, I did like Jessica. The only time she really paid attention to me is when it came to Edward.
"I've never seen him sit with anyone but his family before. That was weird."
"Well, there is a first for everything Jessica," I winked.
The worst part of Friday was that even though I knew he wasn't going to be there, I still searched. Out of habit or hope, I wasn't sure. Everyone at the lunch table was full of excitement as they talked about the plan for this weekend. Every now and then I would throw a comment or two in the conversation but I didn't contribute much.
When we were leaving lunch I overheard Lauren, a girl who despises me, say to Mike "...don't know why Bella. She should just sit with the Cullen's for now on." I sped up so I could walk next beside her. "Must suck to have a limited amount of friends. Maybe it's because of your salty attitude." I said simply. She scoffed at me. Mike gave me a puzzled look. "What? It's true." I picked up the pace and began walking to class by myself. The rest of the dragged on nerve-rackingly slow.

I looked out my car window as I drove to Mike's dad's shop, Newton's Olympic Outfitters. We all supposed to meet up there and carpool the rest of the way to La Push. Everyone from the lunch table was there including Lauren who glared at me as soon as I stepped out my truck. I returned to her a generous smile.
"You made it!" Mike said happily as he rushed over to give me a hug. It was way too ceremonial for me seeing as how I'd just seen him the day before.
"I told you I would be here," I said with smile.
"We are just waiting on Sam and Lee to get here...unless you invited someone else?"
"Nope," I said.
"Will you ride in my car? It's either that or Lee's mom's minivan."
"Sure." He gave me a huge smile.
"You can have a shotgun." I thought about Jessica and how awkward that would be but I didn't protest. Lee ended up bringing two extra people and we needed every seat in the car. I managed to lose my shotgun status, but I still got stuck between Jessica and Mike. Mike didn't do much to hide his excitement.
When we made it to the beach I took a moment to look at my surroundings. The beach had a dark vibe to it but it was no less peaceful than any other beach. There was a circle of logs for sitting and in the middle was a fire pit. I really loved the atmosphere of the place.
"Have you ever seen a driftwood fire?" Mike asked me.
"No."When the fire was set ablaze it was easy to spot the difference. Instead of the fire being a normal red-orange color, it was a blue-green. It was beautiful.
