I woke up in a sweat. I look at the clock, 7:00. Great. Now I have no true reason to go back to sleep. I'm still exhausted from unpacking last night. Mom and I just moved from Florida where she was offered a job at a local radio station here in California, and Mom took the chance. She believes that moving would give us a chance to start fresh. As if! You can never run away from your troubles! Mom knows this. After Dad died of cancer, Mom kept telling herself to move on and forget. I know she can't. People don't just forget things like that, they never have and they never will. Although, I never really remembered my Dad because I was only a toddler when he died, I still miss him.
I lifted my self from the bed and walked to the window beside my bed. I opened the blinds.
Big mistake.
I was almost blinded by the light that shined through the blinds. "DAMNED SUN! EVERYONE ALREADY KNOWS YOU'RE HOT!", I yelled. I quickly closed the blinds, satisfied with the darkness that filled my room. I walked to my bathroom, its walls painted blue,my favorite color. I examine myself in the mirror. My curly hair was cut to a fair size, My brown eyes stood out from my pale skin. Damn, J you sexy. I smirked at myself.
After I brushed my teeth and changed my clothes I walked downstairs. I smelled the delicious scent of pancakes and sausages. I stepped into the kitchen to see my Mom, patiently waiting for me. "Hi Mom", I said, smiling. She looked up pushing some of the hair that was covering her face behind her ear. "Hey baby!" She welcomed me with a hug. "Are you ready for school?" I nodded. "Well, then hurry and eat your breakfast, we both have a big day ahead of us!" she smiled. I sat down at the counter and devoured my food. After several minutes, Mom gave me a key to the house then left.
I locked the door and stuffed the key in my wallet.I looked to see the bus turning the corner. I hopped down the steps just in time to see the bus come to a stop. As I climb the steps of the bus, I see the bus driver. Her hair was a dark brown color with a touch of gray. Her olive colored eyes twinkled towards me. She smiled. "Hello...?", she said, her eyes curious. "My names Jared, Jared Savestone." "Oh well, nice to meet you! I'm Mrs.Crowswell but you can call me April." I nod, then face the rest of the bus. Damn, what is it with people and staring? Its like I just killed five people! I see an empty seat beside a girl with red hair. I walked to the seat and sat down. I looked over at the girl to see her big brown eyes practically kissing my face. "Hey! What's your
