Loraine's POV

"Oh my holy gods! Why do we have to go to a desert?!" I exclaimed as I wiped the sweat off my forehead. "Uhhhh, I don't know. . . I'm not lady Emily." Denise said as she was looking at a map. "Then why do you have a map?!" I asked. "Simple, we just have to go to a maze---" she was cut off by Venice and Shiray. "Maze?!" They both exclaimed in unison. Faye just giggled.

Denise rolled her eyes. "Yes, maze. We have to find something there. . . Specifically to spy on people." She said. "The people of Veronica, huh?" I asked. "Yes, pretty much. We need to find out what they are planning to do. I mean, if we don't know much then how will we do tactics. We need a plan, a battle strategy." Denise said.

"But apperantly you are the daughter of the wrong goddess here. You are Juventas's or in Greek, Hebe's daughter. You need to be Athena's to have a good battle strategy!" I exclaimed. "We need Annabeth!" Faye said. "Yeah, she is just a character made by Rick Riordan." Shiray said.

"Could you guys just calm down?" Venise asked. We looked at her, "No." We firmly stated. And then I bumped into a wall. "Ow! Watch it!" I exclaimed as I fell back on my butt. "I think I broke my butt." I said as I stood up and rubbed it. They giggled. "You need to be much more concered on the bruise on your forehead." Denise said. "But I broke my butt!" I exclaimed.

"Nah, you're fine." Denise said as she went searching for something. "Ahah!" She said as she pressed the sign "Ω". It then turned purple as it slowly opened to reveal a dark path. "Aaannnnnddddd, LEGGO." I exclaimed, making it echo through the maze. "Shhhh!" They all said as they placed their index finger on their lips.

"Ψθρσε τηισ δαρκ μαζε! Ι  ψαν'τ σεε ανυτηινγ!!" Denise exclaimed. I then opened my flashlight. "Whut?" Venice asked. "She said: Curse this dark maze! I can't see anything!" I said. Their jaws dropped, except for Denise. "How do you know that?" Shiray asked. "She teaches me basically." I giggled.

"I just wish that this isn't like Daedalus's Labyrinth." She said. "Yep." Faye and I agreed. "Wait." Venice said. We then came to a stop and looked at her."For what I know, the city of Veronica is in the middle of this maze. But this may be a labyrinth." Venice said as she traced out the word "ΩΕΡΟΝΙΨΑ" that is carved on the wall. "Why is the word Veronica carved in greek here?" Shiray asked.

"Tch. I just hope that none of them has to be one of Ares or Athena's child. Or even Nike!" Denise said. "Specifically, any powerful god or goddess." I corrected her. She just nodded. "But Ares, Athena, and Nike are the most dangerous ones. For what I think, Ares children are good at fighting. Athena children have strategies and knowledge. And Nike children are competitive." She complied.

"Nike? Isn't that a shoe?" Shiray asked. Me and Denise facepalmed. "Nike is the goddess of victory, her Roman equivalent is Victoria." Venice said.

"Aye, Denise. . . When is Jason coming back?" I asked. "Apperantly, Venice resurrected him. Which makes her powerful that her father." Denise said as she kept walking. I frowned. "You didn't answer me." I said. "Today." Venice butted in.

I sighed. "Yet, his sister isn't there. Well, you won't be Queen Baron after all." I said. She just smiled. "Which means. . . I won't be wearing a dress. Which is fantastic. Though, will Jason be able to rule a kingdom?" She asked. "Don't worry about your brother, if he can lead a group then heck he can rule a whole kingdom." Faye replied.

"I just hope that he won't skip his duties just to meet his girlfriend. I mean, I don't hate here. . . It's just that. . . He has to balance his normal life and the kingdom." Denise said in a strained tone. "I ship JasPer!!" Shiray said.

"Ty--" before Venice could even say somehing, Faye covered her mouth and pulled her to a corner. Me, Denise, and Shiray hid behind a rock and crouched as footsteps was walking towards us. "I swear I heard voices here." A male voice said. "That would be your imagination, dummy." The female voice said. The male groaned. Venice mouthed "don't move, they're right in front of you." My eyes widened as the footsteps came to a stop.

"It may be just δράψαεναε ." The female voice said.

"No it's not, idiot!" He hissed.

"Whatever. We must get back to report this." She said.

"Di immortales! If I am right, I get to go out!" He said.

"Just shut up you stupid piece of---" she was cut off by him.

"Yada yada yada! Your always like that!" He said

"Because I am the daughter of Athena." She said which made Denise's eyes widened.

"Grr! What does it have to do with your mother?! You're always like that!" He said as he walked off angrily. She gave out a sad sigh. She mumbled somethings that I couldn't hear. And she then walked slowly to his direction.

We all heaved a sigh of relief as we got up from our places.

"A daughter of Athena, huh?" Shiray said which made Denise groan in anger. "Yes, let's just go before we loose track of her. She shouldn't got that far." I said as I followed the girl's track. The others just trailed behind me.

"Are we there yet?" Shiray whispered. "Almost." I replied. We got this far by following her. When she left I used Psychokinesis to leave trails of stones behind her. And at last, we were here. . . Veronica. Good timing too since the leader is talking about something. I pulled the girls behind a boulder.

Once we got out of the maze, we started talking about it. "They're really planning ahead. . . But, who is the freaking spy?" Denise asked, she pondered. "A spy, huh? We need to watch them." I said as I placed my hand on my chin.
